Some have taken power like in Hungary, etc. Their road to power has centered on an anti immigrant platform and practice. The Trump administration is our version. That is where the change in the Republican Party in part stems from.

I think if you are not Native American you are probably the defendant of an immigrant. But naturally born.
Even native Americans immigrated here from somewhere else. They were just here first. Everyone almost everywhere are descendants of immigrants. Immigration back then happened when there were few people groups and no laws to govern “ownership” of land. The rule of law has evolved imperfectly over the last 5,000 or so years (actually longerI. Natural “laws’ were far more barbaric than anything practiced today in the civilized world.
So quit your whining. We function under a specific set of laws that define national borders. You love those laws and benefit from them everyday. It’s what keeps mean fuckers from walking into your house... putting you out and taking your shit.
Trump and the “right” don’t hate immigrants even though the agenda driven news reports it that way. They are simply trying to enforce the laws already on the books to stop illegal immigration. Where the US has tried to be compassionate towards illegal immigrants for the last 75 years... the meekness and respect we have tried to display has been viewed as weakness and taken advantage of. Someone has simply said, That has to stop.
I still don’t understand the “left’s” goals in that area. Saddling the American tax payer with welfare of everyone that can find a way into the country is wrong. You can’t run your household like that... and you can’t run a country like that.

Most of the time I am just working through what I think/believe... and it helps codify my reasoning to get it out of my head and into written words. So I have no expectation of moving the paint chip eaters onto my path of truth and enlightenment.

The problem with the Republican platform is that they put abolishing abortion as one of the top items they want to pursue.
As much as abortion is an abomination they way it is currently practiced in America, it still seems to resonate and piss people off, a vast majority of whom have personal responsibility, or are too old to have children, or are physically unable to bear children (liberal men).
It's a losing issue.
Instead, this President focused on the economy -- freeing up businesses to grow, expand, create jobs and generate earnings and wealth. The end result is the lowest unemployment in the last 50 years, and lowest minority unemployment ever. He focused on illegal immigration, and is trying to stop our country from being overrun by hordes of uneducated and unwashed masses, seeking to change our culture into a 3rd world cesspool. Finally, he is addressing issues with world bullies -- China, Iran, North Korea. Bit by bit, he is making progress on those fronts as well, especially with the China trade deficit, their stealing of American intellectual property, and currency manipulation.
Donald Trump is what the Republican platform SHOULD be! Putting America first, Making America Great Again, and Keeping America Great.
