Pomona and Covina DMV are the worst. Rancho and Norco seem to suck the least. Thank god for smart phones to break up the boredom. Just wish their chairs didn’t suck at the DMV

No particular order
Yesterday it was CalTrans, followed by all the signals going home and last was the Post Office

You can go online to see current wait times for both appointments and non-appointments. Last time I went to DMV, it was an 8 minute wait at Norco. But I had been paying attention for a few days waiting for the opportune time. Had to get my M1 endorsement.

Best to go late in the day. They don’t want to be there after 5:00 either.

Needed to renew my license by taking the written test and eye chart, so no way out of a visit to the DMV....tried to get an appointment but the soonest was over 30 days after my current license would expire..
So I had had good luck in the past at the Inglewood office so I showed up at 0645 on a Tuesday.
Only person besides me was the security guard....got even better when I found out they opened at 0700 instead of 0800...so I was first in line....I went through the whole process for the 'Real ID' license and was out the door in 35 minutes.

Appointments suck... they always run an hour or so behInd.
If yoU don’t have to take a test... walk in about 4:30. Usually in and out in 20 minutes

Worst run government agency ever...bad management at it best.. It has not improved any in the last 40 years, i have had an appointment and arrived and still waited an hour. I know the state will never do it, but i feel they should turn that agency over to a private firm. At least those hard chairs give a good echo if you happen to slip a fart out.

Know a few guys who built an extra few hours into river trips to go to DMV in Blythe and Needles because of the crowds here and they just walked up to the counter.
Another guy swears that the DMV in Stanton is no longer than a half hour. San Clemente used to be like that.

unless you can be in line before they open, i think the comments about going late may be right. last time i had to go it was fairly late in the afternoon. i was surprised how the pace picked up as closing time approached
