I am one of those anti-Trump, pro Bernie guys. If everything the Dems are saying is true, and he did withhold aid to get dirt on possible Democratic nominee, is that really an impeachable offense? The Dems will need much more than this in my opinion. Aid was released and apparently no dirt was uncovered. That being said, however, it is important that he be held accountable in some fashion for this possible bribery or abuse of authority.

Tribalism prevails of course. No one who is objective, who cares about the rule of law and democracy would say Trump did not commit crimes here. I am not a lawyer but Every legal scholar I’ve seen have indeed said those are impeachable crimes. Remember impeachment is a political process, not a criminal one. But Trump has some kind of hold on people that support him. They don’t care and so the status quo may remain.
While I do think if he survives this he can be elected again, I am not so sure his path will be as easy as some here think it will be. In 2016, he had a clean slate. Some gave him the benefit of the doubt. He does not have that anymore. His fans are devoted and will stay With him. He’ll get His 35% support but, besides older uneducated white males, where he’s still polling strong, he has regressed in every other demography. Not too crazy about any of the Democratic candidates but we’ll have to see.

Theres plenty of evidence right there, The two guys yesterday were very credible. Republicans asking questions sounded stupid trying to twist things saying basically they were never Trumper's and Trump was trying to root out correction. They tried to say Schiff has connection with whistleblower etc,,,,,,, Trump tried to Bribe Ukraine tp get dirty on Biden using Rudy G as his conduit. Theres more coming stay tuned. Its not about a crime per say, its about is it impeccable. Bill Clinton was impeached for lying under oath about an affair with an intern. That pretty small compared to blackmail a foreign government into digging up dirt on his 2020 Presidential potential opponent.
When this is over Trump will be impeached by the House but not by the Senate.
For some reason there is NOTHING negative that can be said about Trump to Trump supporters that they will publicly believe. They know he's likely guilt but will NEVER admit it cause they agreed with his overall bigoted world view.

Two things: This is a congressional hearing... where the Chairman gets to set the rules of testimony/evidence. “I heard that someone else heard what the president said to someone else.”
Is acceptable testimony here.
“The president felt like the Ukrainians owed him.” Is acceptable here.
When the Senate starts the actual trial, The Chief Justice will impose actual rules of evidence and testimony.
Almost all the “hear say’ will be gone. Testimony declaring of how, someone you have never met or talked to, feels will not be allowed.

If you love Trump it was to get to the bottom of supposed election interference in 2016 and back room sweetheart deals with family members of people in power.
