The NFL protects QBs, not Women...

I will say that the image of Garrett taking off the helmet and hitting Rudolph over the head with it is what has gotten all the attention, but I think it looks a lot worse than it really is. There is a lot more force exerted on the head when someone is hit helmet-to-helmet by a football player making a tackle than when someone’s head is hit by an empty helmet. Think about that!

Some severe helmet to helmet hits may explain your cognitive disabilities Fisherhoff.

No excuse for it but I understand it.
Some guys when they're involved in a fight 'red out', don't really know what's going on around them, just that they're in a fight and they don't stop til they're pulled off, hopefully someone's there to pull them off or they'll keep going til they really hurt the person they're in a fight with.
Either way he should be suspended for at least 1 full season if not more.

"Some guys when they're involved in a fight 'red out', don't really know what's going on around them, just that they're in a fight and they don't stop til they're pulled off"
What about #65? lol
After Rudolph had been knocked to the ground, and stood back up, that #65 dude charged in from behind and shoved Rudolph back to the ground again
That's just a dirty team, a dirty LOSING team. Just disband the Browns already. For that matter, just sell Cleveland back to the Indians or whomever we stole that land from. Nothing good has ever come out of Cleveland.
I just saw that #65 was suspended for ONE game
That’s some serious black on white hate crime 😂
Cleveland's shit brown and pumpkin orange uniforms are a hate crime on my eyes.
🤣
Gone for season, playoffs and maybe more. Possible criminal action per espn.

I’m no rocket scientist, but if you don’t have a helmet on, don’t fight a guy with a helmet on....... especially if he’s holding your helmet 🤣
Should be 3 games a rest of season was too much. The QB started it
Some punishment has to go to the qb. He could have walked away when his 2 O linemen were holding garrett but he was the one that jumped back into it thus escalating the whole thing.
If he'd have walked away that would have been the end of it, so he deserves at least 1 game suspension.

that dude should get as much a Vontaze Burfict received, or MORE !!!!!!!

@mjcjmjcj. Nah, just bad genes, and it fluctuates. Most of the time my cognitive abilities are just fine. I'm a PhD you know!

Myles Garrett suspended indefinitely. Not fair. So helmet to helmet hits, which can do a lot more permanent damage, get an ejection and a fine, but ripping off a helmet and hitting someone in the head with an empty helmet (much, much less dangerous) get an indefinite suspension? What this boils down to is the NFL doesn't like to look bad, that's all. Myles Garrett embarrassed the NFL and is paying the price for it. Personally, I find all these player coming down with what probably is CTE to be a lot more embarrassing.

I stand corrected by what I have said. Hitting Rudolph over the head with a football helmet could have been catastrophic.
Ripping that helmet off could have chocked QB
I'd still like to know how likely a catastrophic injury is from this. My guess would be not very.
The article states that Garrett didn’t hit Rudolph with a helmet at high velocity, so injury was going to be pretty unlikely. That should have been considered when giving out an indefinite suspension. Knowing this, I think the suspension is too long. Hopefully it will get reduced on appeal.

People have died from less. Thankfully it was a glancing blow and wasn’t a direct hit with the crown of the helmet.
The other issue is intentionality.
Helmet to helmet hits during a game are not intended to injure... although they often do. And you are hitting a guy wearing protection to help absorb the damage.
He was trying to hurt Rudolph.
I don’t think he is a bad guy... I just think he is a viscous defensive player... who got carried away.
I would suspend him for 16 games. Hopefully that would send a message.
i would go full next season also
deadly weapon? it was just luck he had the helmet turned around on the connection
QB needs a small fine
the kicking in the head? 6games pouncey?
the dude that knocked the QB down at the end? 4games (just for being stupid and keeping the fight going)
have not read the extent of the penalties yet-
You bring up a fair point about intentionality, but suspending him for the rest of the year, though, should send enough of a message. And he also needs to petition for reinstatement next year.

just in case...

Hey take it easy on those players that beat up women.....after all didn’t
Ray Rices girlfriend/wife go on national TV to apologize for letting
it happen.
^This is not about that. Why do social justice issues need to be brought into everything?
Now that the asshloe is banned, the Police need to arrest him for assult with a deadly weapon.
very possible
Unlikely to happen
I would be OK with the rest of the season.
He seems genuinely contrite.
But I think he will get more.
The difference between NFL and NHL is the most exciting thing about a hockey game is a fight.
