the president has the authority to pardon anyone, for any reason, period,
look at when obanana pardoned black panthers and other murderers, or when clinton pardoned his criminal buddies like marc rich
|

I’m aware of the law, but as I am trying to point out the military leaders are not kosher with the action and MAY begin to delay the request with formalities, outright belay the order, or quit as a sign of protest.
Or yet take some unprecedented action.

LOL
I can’t speak for anywhere else... but those fuckers at Fort Irwin love Trump.
|
|
And I know a few sailors in Coronado who would love to be in a locked room with Gallagher for 5 minutes and explain what “dishonor” means to them.
|
|
And I bet you know a few want to be transgenders that want the government to pay for their reassignment surgery that are upset with Trump.
|
|
It does affect the honor and reputation of our military worldwide. Could cause problems.
|
|
He was accused of murder or was found guilty of murder?
|
|
Not guilty..
Another OP miss..

Face has a point. I don't know whether Trump getting involved in this situation is good or bad.
But I also had questions about some of the pardons issued by some other presidents.
I remember looking through Obama's pardons and did not wonder too much about some of the pardons to low level street criminals who might have been represented by public defenders but had questions about pardons given to some major players who had the money to be represented by top legal talent.

I know if I ever get in trouble for some shady shit... I would like to be able to send screen shots of me sticking up for the Donald in hopes of getting a pardon.
Sherkahn... you haven’t been planning ahead... so you are pretty much fucked.

Donald's in office for... how long? 1 more year? 5?
Honor, Code (with a capital "C"), and elite merit among the military lasts how long?
Short game vs. long game. I'll take the long.
|
|
The idiots on this site wouldn’t know honor if it was fisting them.
|

More like how Trump would grab your pussy, you stupid zeta cunt.

|

I don’t even know what you’re talking about guy, but my ass doesn’t need “saving”. Unlike the rest of you creeps, my life doesn’t revolve around this stupid mope site.
Besides it was way better years ago anyways.

Oh fuck me not again -
1 He's the commander in chief
2 he was elected by the population of the United States to be the president, who is the commander in chief.
3 he's the commander in chief
4 'whispering ' who the fuck do you think told him his campaign was being spied on back in 2016?
|
|
Who do you think asked Trump to run for President
|
|
Commander in chief is pissing off military leaders about honor of the service (Gallagher’s reversal of fortune), incompetence with allies (the Kurds in Syria) and poor decision making that compromises national security (resurrection of ISIS). Money is not going to buy your way out of these conflicts, and course correction may get ugly.
Outside of the Civil War we have never had outright defiance from top military leaders, but in the age of Trump anything is possible.

run-key....maybe you need to re-read the TOS. Several of your comments are clear violations.....
But keep it up and you will get the boot...but don't kill the messenger....learn dumb shit.

About Gallagher....
Up until Trump’s tweets Gallagher was certain for jail time, just a matter of how long. Then Trump stepped in. His tweet Influenced the handling of the trial, as no one wanted to piss off the boss. They
Those of you who wore the uniform, ask your JAG friends what they thought of the decision.
They may love Trump personally, but now have to deal with the consequences of more active enlisted may attempt to commit crimes and gamble that the POTUS will pardon them.
|
|
I don't follow too much of this crap but for Gallagher he's done enough, now it's time to leave it to the brass IMO not the POTUS. We need the military functioning properly not continually getting the run around from the POTUS.
Just my .01, not enough for .02.
Let the military do what they gotta do, it's shitty business sometimes and there is a code. I want them being able to do their work the way they've always done it.

Looks like Trump might be standing down after all.
Everyone gets their panties in a bunch....pay attention to what he actually does......
|
|
If these military leaders cannot, in good faith, follow out the orders of their boss, then they should respectfully let their boss know that they cannot follow his orders, and resign, just like Mattis did.
There is no dishonor in respectfully stepping down over a difference of belief. But honorable people don't commit insubordination against their bosses for making decisions that are fully within their authority when they disagree with those decisions.
Trump was elected to be commander in chief, and part of those duties is to direct foreign affairs.
|
|
The President can pardon. That's a fact, argument done.
But he should NOT get involved over whether a military member remains a member of a special ops team. If that member has lost the confidence of his superiors and his fellow ops members, we really think he should be going on black ops missions? No. Absolutely not.
Time for the President and his fake bone spurs to butt out.

Commander in Chief. End of story.

“Commander in Chief. End of story.”
A person who got doctors note to avoid serving , coward , who degrades and calls POWs losers , and the highly decorated generals who served when he was robbing the nation , worst or the worst ......yeah sure ..... he sure deserve to be commander in chief
|

And subslutslayer's only rating is negative....
We have lots of shills running around here. They don't have the balls to show their real face....hide behind a keyboard and then use this site for what it is intended, socializing, using another profile.

UPDATE: The Senior Navy officer who said they would strip Gallagher of his elite status, for conduct unbecoming (posing with the dead body and taking pics) has been asked to resign.
Not Gallagher, but Naval Secretary Spencer.

the Commander in chief gets to gun the military. Obama let Brady manning go, let Bowie off.

Pentagon chief fires Navy secretary over SEAL controversy
WASHINGTON — Defense Secretary Mark Esper on Sunday fired the Navy’s top official over his handling of a disciplinary case involving a Navy SEAL.
Esper asked for the resignation of Navy Secretary Richard V. Spencer and Spencer submitted it Sunday, said the chief spokesman for the Pentagon, Jonathan Hoffman.
The firing was a dramatic turn in a long-running controversy involving Navy Chief Petty Officer Edward R. Gallagher, whose case has been championed by President Trump.
Esper also directed that Gallagher be allowed to retire at the end of this month, and that a Navy disciplinary board that was scheduled to hear his case starting Dec. 2 be canceled, Hoffman said. At Esper’s direction, Gallagher will be allowed to retire as a SEAL at his current rank, Hoffman said.

|
3504john, WTF are you spouting off about? Manning served 7 years before the sentence was “commuted” not pardoned. Bergdahl, (Bowie?) was convicted by a military judge and is still serving his sentence.
Google can be your friend.
