I still have an operational 8 track player, AM FM stereo and turntable unit. I haven't played it in over thirtyfive years and I threw away all my 8 tracks tapes. Atleast I think it still works.
I still have a cassette dubbing player packed away.
I still use my Pioneer CS53 speakers I bought in 1971.

Several years ago I worked at a machine shop that specialized in repairing obsolete machines that had no instructios anymore. The boss was a total genius, he could look at any machine and figure how it's suppose to work. I was the tare down and reassemble guy. He told me to always take lots of pictures to remember how to put it back together after they machined new parts. Machines came in old broke down and left looking new.

They still make turntables, actually. Records have better sound quality than any cd or digital medium.
How do I know, you ask? I bought one a couple of years ago. Yes I still buy records, just wish Tower was still around.

Atticus... still buying vinyl.
It’s a big niche market nowadays. Before Covid... people were having listening parties.
“Hey Sally, why don’t you come over and we will listen to records. Bring your favorite piece of Vinyl.”
|
|
I've never stopped buying Vinyl, and I never will.
|
|
^ Absolutely!!! Better quality, plus you get more stuff in an album then a cd. Lyrics are also easier to read etc.
The real question is why'd you stop buying vinyl?

There's radiator repair shop near the corner of riverside and central in Chino. So no, they haven't gone under just yet.
