Both New York and New Jersey have higher COVID-19 death rates than any single country; New Jersey has the worst death toll of any political entity on earth, with New York coming second, and in both cases deaths could be overlaid on the paths of mass-transit systems. Not to mention Cuomo's order to move CV cases into nursing homes which killed thousands.
Cuomo is begging people to come back so they can continue to leech bleed them to pay the unions, here's the best description I've seen.........

Now, that their chances in the 2020 election look dismal (and will certainly collapse if in-person learning doesn't take place this fall) they are all for the Feds telling local school districts what to do. Seems you all love Sweden so much, study what happened there a little closer and you'll see how to get thru this. Only problem there is that they CHOSE to allow the elderly to die due to the nature of their medical system, otherwise the deaths would've been less than half what it is currently.
Schools are open as is the economy AND the economy took less of a hit than any of the neighboring countries........not saying it's perfect but sure looks a lot better than we do.

So, last night at his staged press conference Trump made a big deal about firing the head of the TVA and demanding that jobs be given back to American workers instead of foreigners. You would have thought Trump saved hundreds, if not thousands, of jobs. Total bullshit. First, the TVA is prohibited by law to enter into contracts with foreign companies. So the foreign workers -HIB visas- are employed by American companies. All 13 of them. That's right, 13 high-level computer scientists that TVA desperately needs for updated systems. And, not to mention the illegal Executive Orders that Trump mentioned - it was only short time ago that Obama's Executive Orders sent Republicans into an endless paroxysm because they circumvented the legislative process. And, finally, let's not forget Trump's brilliant plan to replace Obamacare - no denial of pre-existing conditions. Gee, I thought that was a key element of Obamacare. There you have it folks - Trumps health care plan to replace the hated Obamacare is a total joke.

BGD - you forgot to mention two points that somewhat undermine what Sweden did. First, Norway had an extreme lockdown and had a fraction of the deaths that occurred in Sweden. You would think that the Norwegian economy fell off the cliff compared to Sweden. Not the case, Norway's economy is in slightly worse shape than Swedens with thousands of less deaths. Secondly, while Sweden was open, the population was extremely vigilant in keeping socially distant. The poll results I saw indicated that almost 60% of the population were isolated (no interaction with family).
