"The media and Democrats this week can’t roll out enough praise for the veep pick: She’s brilliant, savvy, seasoned, vetted, smooth, forceful, appealing, authentic, powerful, a fighter. This is the same woman the media and Democrats rightly skewered in 2019 for running one of the most bungled and disorganized presidential campaigns this cycle."
The following comments come from left leaning publications:
"A New York Times story about how her campaign “unraveled” described one such quest for a memorable catchphrase, noting that her aides had become “given to gallows humor about just how many slogans and one-liners she has cycled through.”
"As Vox noted, the “combination of policy reversals and botched rollout . . . undermined faith in her ability to govern on the issue Democrats rate as most important.”
"The Washington Post campaign obituary bluntly called Ms. Harris an “uneven campaigner” who was “engulfed by low polling numbers, internal turmoil and a sense that she was unable to provide a clear message.” The Post this week lauded Ms. Harris as “vibrant and energetic” and a “vessel for Democratic hopes.”
"Ms. Harris has alienated key elements of her party, in particular progressives who despise her as a “top cop” from her six years as California’s attorney general. In a poll this week by the Economist/YouGov, Ms. Harris was viewed favorably by only half of African-Americans and very favorably by only 26% of liberals. Will that keep people from pulling a Biden-Harris lever? Maybe not, but she won’t likely be a poll driver."
"The campaign was a mess, rocked by infighting, leaks, restarts and financial problems. After the campaign announced layoffs in early November, its veteran Iowa operations manager wrote a scathing resignation letter in which she said she’d “never seen an organization treat its staff so poorly” and expressed dismay at its ability to make “the same unforced errors over and over.” Ms. Harris didn’t even make it to the first contest, dropping out—broke and with embarrassing poll numbers—two months before the Iowa caucuses. The only other “top tier” candidate to implode as quickly or spectacularly was Beto O’Rourke."
As Barrack recently stated, "Never underestimate Joe's ability to fuck things up"
When kamala won the Senate election she was referring to herself as Indian-American. Now shes black?? I dont think so. Shes the colored version of Hillary. Will say and do and identify as anything for votes.
Willie Brown had some too. He bragged about boosting her career. She is definitely tough and smart. She got more out if than most young gals who do a judge lol. Her salary got raised humongously. Willie also said when she got in office she threatened to have him punished to the fullest degree if he so much as J walks. Dont mess with her! My kind of gal. Luv her!!
Hey Sherlock, it's politics. For someone who thinks of himself as bright and sophisticated you
sure seem like a complete fool at times. What do you expect the Dems and the pro-Dem media to say - that she is an underwhelming VP choice with a lot of flaws as shown by her campaign? Obviously, there are political considerations in selecting her since Biden needs a large turnout of the black and woman vote to win and to also not alienate independents; In this regard, it was a good choice. Do you think Trump thinks highly of Pence or was it that no one of quality wanted to be his VP and he needed to solidify the social conservative vote?
@Vulture, and maybe she'll be coming for HX if elected with Biden.
This election from the Dem point of view is only about getting rid of Trump.
Very little about helping it's citizens.
Biden has been in public office for more than 40 years and what
has he really done? And now if he is elected POTUS, he'll be our savior
Trump is a businessman who believes in getting results.
Biden is your typical politician. Talks a lot but doesn't accomplish much.
lol, sorta like Trump and Lindsay Graham. If you want a businessman that gets results, Mike Bloomberg was your man. Self-made rich guy that didn't go bankrupt 4 times. Trump was considered a lower-tier business guy in NY that "made it" through Daddy's connections and money. I recall reading that if the Donald had liquidated all his fathers' real estate assets and invested the money in the stock market he would have 3 to 4 times the wealth he has now.
Biden told a black reporter about 6 weeks ago in an online interview who said he didn't know who he was going to vote for Joe responded " you don't know who you're going to vote for? If you aren't voting for me, you aint black!!!" ironic that the media that the unbiased media chose to overlook or bury this little tidbit.
Appreciate your input about GBD but I'm 100% sure that Biden is a racist.
The guy is of a "certain age" when everything had its place in the world including women & minorities, where they actually don't think they're racist or misogynist but they are. He denies he manhandles women but too many women claim that he does.
He let slip what he said about Obama "I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy. I mean, that's a storybook, man."
Then this one, "you cannot go to a 7-Eleven (a convenience store) or a Dunkin' Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent"
There's lots more to choose from.
These aren't just gaffes but they're not mean spirited comments like DJT makes.
I guess you might call Joe an unconscious racist, one who's never had the introspection to question his own world view.
I haven't a clue what GBD really believes but it sure seemed to me that he was going beyond mocking Harris.
Regarding Trump, some of the stuff can be brushed off as just politics while the list in your post isn't. For example, during the 2016 campaign Trump claimed that he would wipe out the national debt by 2024. Not just balance the budget but completely get rid of 20 trillion in debt. No rational thinking person believed this was remotely possible. In fact, prior to coronavirus the debt has increased. But, I am not going to call Trump a hypocrite for making this statement since everyone, including Trump, knew it was harmless bullshit.
Dude you really giving a damn about what GodeepinHisAsshole post in blogs. How stupid is that.
He's a joker, a clown THE VILLAGE IDIOT. A fucking Mickey D's Happy Meal prize collector.
Every asshole since Ike has stated they would fix the annual deficit and the total debt, its a free get out of jail card. Nobody believes it, thats why i left the Repubs over 20 years ago (was a Dem before that, lol), the Repubs are total hypocrites about deficits.
Nobody in their right mind should disagree that DJT is a broken toy with some strange personalty disorder. However, I have enough confidence in our "system" of checks and balances that i ROTFLMAO at morons who throw around terms like dictator or fascist or he won't leave if he loses.
These people display their own ignorant bias with those comments.
It's most unfortunate that DJT had to be the "outsider" to get elected but basically half the American people said "8 years of a dysfunctional Republican, then 8 years of a dysfunctional Democrat.....how much worse could it get?"
GBD does like what some of the adults in the WH are doing to roll back the incredible stupidity that happens when bureaucrats are allowed to run amok. Not gonna bore you with the list.
Considering what happened in 2016, I am concerned about smear campaigns that basically say -
Trump is a dumpster fire so what I say about Biden is credible because I am objective. Clever way to case doubt on Biden.
"GBD - that is just my point, it is just politics so why beat up Harris for playing the same game?"
Since I didn't vote for Trump, I don't feel the need to defend his antics.
But Kamala is a professional politician, one who is exceedingly transparent in her naked ambition, her willingness to say almost anything to move up the chain of command AND actually stands FOR nothing other than herself.
I would never vote for Warren or Bernie but, at least, I know their political belief system. Nobody knows anything about Kamala's because she doesn't have one. Thats why she could never stay on theme in her campaign. She was always trying to say WHATEVER might put her in front of the parade that was leaving and did leave without her.
At the end of the day we lowly tax payers must balance our personal finances to survive.
However, according to a January 2017 study, “California state and local governments owe $1.3 trillion as of June 30, 2015.” The study was based on “a review of federal, state and local financial disclosures.” In other words, that $1.3 trillion in debt is the amount to which California governments admit. The Federal government owes $78 trillion.
Will there be any discussion this coming election on fiscal responsibility?
OB69, you are correct
And, there's more than 1 person languishing in prison now, even though they have a chance to prove their innocence, because Kamala needed to be "tough" on crime for her stats.
I've been voting for 48 years and this is the most fucked up election I've ever seen. I'm open minded about which party I vote for but I don't like non of the 2020 people. Whoever wins the country is going to be screwed.
I'm good with a bunch more constitutional judges as worst-case... gotta chance to protect the courts for next 25-30 years before the libs take everything over
Fortunately, I was too young to vote for Harding but I remember Coolidge vs. Davis.
That was a clusterfuck too
But this one is worse
It's almost as if they tried to find the 2 biggest losers as some kinda punishment
@Quat - If DJT picked Lindsay Graham to be his VP I would be LIVID! And I would be on my subs putting the political smackdown on anyone trying to defend Graham as a VP pick.
So I like your analogy about Kamela Harris. It rings true to me. I don't see too many Dems putting the political smackdown on anyone, though. I do see a couple but they are few and far between. For the most part, they're so scared of losing this election they'd support anyone at this point.
