Just wondering

I did keto for a month and lost 20 pounds. I am now doing low carb and I seem to have lost the same amount but in a longer time frame. I know there are some knowledgeable people in here so I’m wondering which is healthier for me in the long run! Yes losing weight is the healthiest but I want to do it the right way! I’ve been strong for 3 months so just looking for pointers or any advice. Thanks

I've been on the Atkin's, essentially keto before keto, for over 20 years. I work out almost everyday and also take a multi vitamin. My blood pressure's at 110/55 and heart rates at 58 bpm.
So works for me. I eat mostly turkey, chicken and the occasional steak, steamed veggies and salads a lot - I love salads and steamed vegetables. I 'listen to my body' so when I get a craving for something not on the diet I'll take a day off and get what my body's telling me it needs, usually a boost in carbs like a pizza, pasta etc.

Hope that helps.

I started a time restricted feeding protocol (16 off 8 on) a few years ago along with cutting grains and added sugars out of my diet, aside from the occasional cheat day/meal, and it had such a profound effect on my body and mind that I have decided to do it for the long haul. I recommend everyone try it a week and see for yourself.
I do a high protein, high fat, low carb diet.
Lots of beef, veggies, fruits, natural oils, salt, water, nuts and a little dairy.
Add a HIIT (high intensity interval training) workout regimine and the benefits are unavoidable.

Id stick with Keto meaning high fat low protein amd residual carbs. If you have high protein and moderate fats and little carbs your body will convert the excess amount into carbs. True keto is 95% fats about 4% protein and remaining carbs. Carb cycle every couple weeks. No need to do intermitent fasting. Before you actually do this get your bmr and then calculate your fat and protein intake. If you google Lyle McDonald hes goes into further details. Getting lean is very simple calories in calories out. When you do a cycllical ketogenic diet you dont need to do much cardio unless your doing a bikini , physique, or bodybuilding show. True way to know that your not intaking sugars is get a glucose meter. No veggies. Theres hidden carbs. Ive done this diet when cutting for summer. You can easily drop 20 to 30lbs in 2.5 months.

Thank you all! I currently workout six days a week! I also do intermediate fasting (16:8)! I liked keto but it was hard to get fats in! It felt like so much! Maybe I should research it again a little bit more! Thanks guys

Sorry I was wrong. Atkins is high protein and fat little to no carbs, depending on when you hit your target weight then you adjust your carb intake to maintain your weight.
Carbs have a lot of sugars, fats and proteins don't and don't turn into carbs - they have a completely different molecular structure.

@QR
Be careful not to over extend yourself physically, if your body needs a break take it.
A good 2 mile walk and some stretching with deep breathing is a great way to get low intensity activity
