I find it amusing that the Republicans are going to be running nationally on law and order while all of this unrest in cities is happening on Trump's watch. It might make a lot more sense if Trump WEREN'T President during this unrest (like Richard Nixon in '68).
If you want to change how cities respond to looting and crime, the Presidential race isn't where to look. Local races would matter much more. Vote in more mayors like Rudolph Giuliani. Unfortunately, there aren't many people like him running for mayor.

you just don't get it, jazz51. Lots of Democrats, including some prominent members of the "deep state" voted for Reagan in 1980. They were called ________ It's a tough question so let's not belabor it - Reagan Democrats. And, there was probably a good chunk of Republicans that voted for Clinton in 1992 and Obama in 2008 and 2012. What the OP was documenting is the number of Republican politicians and, let's not be coy, members of the deep state Republican establishment that have come out for Biden. These folks are probably committing political and career suicide. They are not getting senior positions in the Biden administration and the politicos are probably facing primary challenges and worse in the future. Is there a comparable list of Democrat turn-coats. Don't think there is.

None of those other countries pay for their own security. The average American, that is you and I pay to keep Germany safe from the Russians. Same for japan, the Middle East, etc etc etc. So perhaps if they paid their own or reimbursed us for those expenses, our military wouldn’t cost the average tax payer quite so much freeing up money for other things.

From what I read the mayor of that city put some names of some protestors on Facebook of protestors that wanted to defund the police. A large number of protestor were going to protest in front of the mayors house. The mayors house is in a gated community of many homes. The protestors broke the gate to the private community and were walking down the sidewalk and street to the mayors house.
The couple came out on their balcony with the guns. There was back and forth between the couple and the protestors. The couple came down to street level with the guns. The couple pointed their guns directly at the protestors. Were the protestors wrong for breaking the gate to the private community Absolutely. Was it a private community Absolutely. Were the protestor trespassing in that community YES. The protestors were on the sidewalk and street on the way to the mayors house, not on the couple actual property. Was the couple wrong for point guns directly at the protestors Absolutely and thats why they were arrested. Would this even be a story in the couple just stayed in their house and watched what the protestors were doing NOT AT ALL!

The protestors had no weapons.
Bottomline I could see the couple alarmed by seeing all the protestors in their neighborhood.
They should have just called the police. They over reacted and started pointing gun at people that were going to the mayors house. The couple deserves the charges they got.
The protestors should have been charged with trespassing and damage to that gate.
