Yeah I continued to explain to her if I get the deposit back for sure I will give her, her money back. But she says that’s not her problem 😫 ugh, last time I’m ever in this position, because this sucks. And thank you for that advice👌🏽

Sorry that happened to you E_B, but $ sometimes brings out the worse in some people. No matter what the amount. True friends will always trust you to do the right thing, so at least you got your answer if she is a “friend” or not.
And I agree with everyone here, just part ways with her and you’ll have peace of mind.
Cuz when you do visit, I’m pretty sure you’ll recoup any loses and gain find a real friend out there in the world.

Technically I’ll lose 50% since it’s booked for December but I was gonna try to aim to get full refund back but most likely it won’t happen. But if I magically do get a full refund than nobody loses money. But it’s whatever Life goes on.

Maybe try and sub let it to some locals? In my limited experience (renting in Barra da Tijuca for the World Cup) Brazil has a really active Air b & b type economy. If you're committed maybe just sub let?

Nice to hear from you again, sweetie. Sorry it's about this drag of a situation. The Air BnB told you only 50% refund even with no flights coming into Brazil? Seems like come your December reservation, they're the ones who might have to prevent you from coming even if you were wiling, because of COVID-19 restrictions.
So they're the ones who should refund you 100%.
Uh, not to switch the subject, but it's been a long time. Can you show us pictures of you nekked?

If you go to Brazil...I been there many times, by car from Argentina, I suggest you a hotel always,
Booking.com and Expedia are always the best.
I am also waiting for my flight to Corrientes and because of the cases in Brazil now my ticket is open ,
I am not flying to Brazil but we are neighbors and the airport is closed until further notice ,pain in the ass Covid but hopefully I will be flying any time inSeptember or October

@ Energizer_Bunny.... That 's terrible!!! I guess you can chalk it up to a "lesson learned". ..Next time!!! If you can't get an equal cash contribution from all parties involved , "upfront". You might be better served by going with those that can pay the needed cash upfront. Otherwise, if you pay , or cover for someone else until they can "pay you back".. You might as well write that off as a loss. Unfortunately, some people , and not all. Are deadbeats when it come to paying back money.

Sorry I fell asleep early and honestly it’s not about the 200 dollars but how she was going crazy and threatening me that’s what really bothered me. I didn’t think something so small would be such a huge issue.
And yeah I’m doing well, I’ve travelled a lot now and living a good life hehe and I’ll plan to host sometime in the coming months I’m just trying to stay clear with covid and all.
