No one really cares about either of these conventions. If you think the ratings from last week's DNC cluster mean that dementia now is going to be president then you are a moron. Eventually, he will actually have to come out of his basement and debate Trump. If he shows that he is not capable of forming multiple coherent thoughts, the dems are done. If a miracle occurs and he doesn't shit his pants, there are still not guarantees that he wins. Biden has benefited from being able to hide and he can't do that forever.

I still remember the words of Bob Gates, foreign policy official that worked with Biden, "Joe's been dead wrong about nearly every foreign policy and national security issue over the last 4 decades".

Say what you want about our dumpster fire presi, he's done 3 things that have changed the trajectory of foreign policy.....whether you agree or not doesn't really matter.
1. Open embassy in Jerusalem put the Palestinian question at a lower tier than the fight against Iran and led to the UAE breakthrough
2. Cutting troop levels in Europe & Korea puts them on notice that they have to pick up the slack and pay their way. Plus the issue is China now, not Soviet invasion across the Polish steppes.
3. Last, recognition that China policy of the past 30 years is a failure. Bringing them into international trade and community has not led to a moderated Chinese Communist Party. They've taken advantage of our largesse but now its time to make them play by the rules.
Biden has a history of rolling over under pressure so if he wins, will he stay on this track or double down on the failed Obama policies which were an extension of the failed Bush policies.
The best thing Trump could do is take a long trip on a slow boat and let the adults run the show in his absence. The same could be said for Biden.

I know I recorded night 1 of the DNC. I wanted to hear what John Kasich and Michelle Obama were going to say. I fast forwarded to those parts. Didn’t watch the rest of the week.
I haven’t watched any of the RNC. Not a second (except for highlights on the news)
It’s all just “Rah Rah” for each side.

Trump having family speak looks desperate because it is-- and makes people realize how many people have said no way they support Trump--former staff. Colleagues. Prominent Republicans. His FAMILY (the ones not there) FFS.
Of course Dems always have the better speakers, actors, musicians, scientists. RNC is a ragtag bunch of losers and rich fat cats--always has been.

So who benefits from people thinking polls show a close race and Biden is losing his lead over Trump?
1. Media like Yahoo CNN Fox want the appearance of a close race, because people tune in, click through, and every story has a dramatic edge. People love that shit even when it is meaningless.
2, Democrats. Everyone knows the Democrats are the majority party in the USA. All the Dems need to do to win is get people to go vote and they win big (so sad really). If people think the race is decided they get bored and don't vote. If it seems tight and every vote counts, turnout will be higher. Which favors Dems hugely.
