Locked. No further comments permitted.Capitalism and Racism Go Hand in Hand
Aug 27 2020 11:01PM more by Night-Rider
Tags: Current Events

said NBA basketball player Andre Iguodala. "You can't have one without the other."

I guess he doesn't follow what goes on in China with the Uighurs, but I digress.

It's this type of thinking by the BLM movement that concerns me. Theoretically speaking, it's just bullshit. Capitalism and racism by definition have nothing to do with one another. My concern is that the same forces (BLM?) that want to eradicate systemic racial inequalities are going to want to weaken aspects of capitalism that has helped this country get where it is. I don't understand why people have linked them together.

So it's up to people who are capitalists to show there are other ways of removing racial and ethnic inequalities that don't include removing capitalism.

Andre pretty much has it correct.
Capitalism has been proven to be a failed economic system.
It's failure is it does not distribute wealth evenly or fairly

But probably the most serious flaw is that capitalism can only appear to succeed by identifying and exploiting people, usually set apart by race. Essentially cooking the books by forgetting the costs and claiming profits when there none.

(add it up) So take America's wealth
deduct value stolen from indigenous people
deduct labor without compensation by slaves
deduct work and value stolen from lower classes by corporations...

Huh says here capitalism owes back like 100 bajillion dollars.
Looks like fail

Capitalism didn't take away from indigenous peoples or blacks. Don't blame capitalism; blame the people in power who did that. That could have happened using any type of economic system.

As for unequal distribution of wealth, regulated capitalism mixed together with some socialist ideas (social security) seems to work better than socialism or communism did. Just look at the economy of the old Soviet Union or its satellites. Even Sweden had problems and became much more capitalistic.

@ Crappyguy

You're a brain washed mental midget, as the evidence shows.
After over 100 years of failed Socialism all over the world.
After having had the luck to live in the singularly most successful country in the world
That you would speak that gibberish?

Which country is it that millions attempt to enter?
Capitalism is horrible, but it's THE best system that allows humans free association with each other and a means to enjoy the fruit of their own labor and talent.

Spend a year in the workers paradise of Cuba or Venezuela, then report back their unending success story.

Better yet, just stay there and let the rest of us muddle along in this hell-hole of America.

“It's failure is it does not distribute wealth evenly or fairly”

It’s not supposed to. It never promised to. It’s designed to foster ideas, ingenuity and innovation. It incentivizes production.

It’s hard to build a business. It rewards people who do the work of producing and employing others.

I know a lot of “well off” people... and a lot of “poor people” and a lot of “poor people” who have become “well off.” Do you know the difference between the two? In most cases... personal choices.

1. Completed Secondary Education
2. Continued Education throughout adulthood
3. Strong work ethic
4. No problems with the law
5. No substance abuse issues (addictions)
6. Producing offspring pre-maturely (this simply means before you are prepared to handle it)

Odds are... if you have done those 6 things... you are doing pretty well.

Unfortunately, our media culture makes us envious of others and created an entitlement culture.

I had a 45 year old guy, who bought a $70,000 Tesla that he couldn’t afford... so he asked me for a raise because he was about to lose it.
I asked him, “Why did you buy it?” His answer was,”I said to myself, I’m 44. I deserve to do this for myself.”

Really? People “deserve” luxury items because they reach a certain age? LOL.
Our media culture created that kind thinking.

"The problem with Socialism is sooner or later you run out of OP's money."

^ that was Margret Thatcher, I believe,

The problem with Andre and the Marxists running around today is our educational system, which conveniently forgot to teach that Socialism and Communism is responsible for over 100 million deaths in the last 100 years. That's right 100 freakin' million.

No economic system has raised more people out of poverty that the American brand of Capitalism. That is a fact.

So the uneducated 'have-nots' are running around screaming for their free piece of the pie, instead of doing the work.

Turds outta go back to school and invest in themselves. Work hard. Start a business. Learn to fail forward. Sooner or later you can make it.

Capitalism has been proven to be a failed economic system.

Who the hell said anything needed to be distributed evenly or fairly????

So your idea is to put all money into a pot and distribute it?

As was said, starting a business is hard. Lots of people struggle and lose their savings.

I started my own business...it was all outgo and little income for over 6 months. I spent savings, racked up credit card debt but plowed onward and my business is now 23 years old.

I took the risk, I pushed through....no one else. I got no hand out from anyone....I didn't expect some governmental agency to bail my ass out....I made the decision to do it...so I live with the consequences, good or bad.

Anyone else can do exactly what I did, assuming they have the education and training in the field I work. But lots of my peers do not take the risk. Their decision.

Why should I be expected, somehow, to distribute MY wealth to someone else?

Communist and socialist hate any kind of education. Unless it's an education controlled by them. Which is why they work so hard to control learning institutions in the United States. The Khmer Rouge used to kill intellectuals, people who knew multiple languages and even people who wore glasses.

The message of free shit for everybody resonates with dumb people. Top tier leftists understand that and work that angle tirelessly.

Leftist also often portray common criminals as folk heroes and martyrs. Read about the Symbionese Liberation Army and Angela Davis and George Jackson. The victims of these assholes are are completely discounted and ignored by the Left. Common murders robbers and rapists are held up as racial Freedom Fighters. George Jackson seduced his radical attorney Fay Abrahams Stender who fell for the fake persona she created for him. Ironically but fittingly when she started to realize that he was just a fucking criminal he had one of his thugs shoot her about 7 times. AOC continues this tradition of noblizing common criminals. And this is why you never hear the Democrats speak out against rioters and looters.

^ that's the seductive lie

Of course an economic system should fairly distribute resources and wealth and if not is an abysmal fail. What other criteria would any sane person apply? So much brainwashing and robot thinking what you are told.

I mean limited property "ownership" and possessions are ok unless a gap is created between wealthy and poor. Then poor have an absolute right to claim the assets of wealthy..

Listen to Lennon's "Imagine". Not a sappy bleeding heart song but a manifesto and calling.

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion, too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace
....
Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man

You can work with a Dem, Rep, or Libertarian.
Progressives are best killed like the cockroaches they are
They are the living embodiment of HL Menkens quote
"Explanations exist; they have existed for all time; there is always a well-known solution to every human problem — neat, plausible, and wrong."

A Progressive will always choose a path that sends "virtue signals" and has great "optics"
It really sounds good.
Yet, will lead to results that are the exact opposite of what works for human beings

How else can one explain that trillions of dollars have been spent in the "War on Poverty"?
Yet, the % of population in poverty has not changed in 50 years.

How else can one explain that our great cities run by Progressives for 50 years have not conquered racism & poverty? Rather, they fester in financial death spirals while the crime rate soars and people of color are gunned down day and night with impunity.

How else do you explain the fealty to trite, banal, immature songs written in the language of naivete and doubletalk while 100 years of historical FAILURE stare you in the face.

Are you going to believe your lyin' eyes?.

Again, Menken is most informative:
"Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit upon his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats"

Back to the topic at hand, there are plenty of Asian Americans who
would disagree with that NBA player, Andre Aguodala. Many went to
college became doctors, lawyers, accountants and business owners.
They didn't let racism stand in their way of getting an education and earning a living.
They like capitalism as practiced in the U.S.

"The whole idea of the United States is progressive. The Constitution was a progressive document when it was written and left the door open for future progressive ideals to be embraced."

Sam, you do not get to define the terms of the debate to serve your own ends.
Progressivism, at one point, manifested itself as Eugenics and the Temperance Movement.
Today's Prog is represented by the condescendingly uber-intelligent attempting to lord it over the common folk by means of a quasi-religious scientific method.

This is how California, producing less than 1/10 of 1% of greenhouse gases, virtue signals it's obedience to the "climate change" vanguard by creating rolling blackouts and outrageous pricing for the poor and minority groups.........in the interest of saving them from themselves.

You Progs keep waving your banners and shouting your slogans while burning out the very people of color you claim to be saving.

Andre is an idiot without an education worthy of the name. If he wasn't a physical freak of nature, he'd be lucky to get paid minimum wage dropping fries in a basket.
But, he'd have the great fortune of working alongside yourself and crappyguy.

Crappy ... is a little angry, a lot bitter... and so wrong in his information. Then... he makes ridiculous declarative statements.

“All wealth is from liberal ideas and work.”

Have you lost your fucking mind? U.S. Capitalist type systems have paved the way for more creativity, ingenuity, innovation And invention than anything else in HISTORY.

Cuba, Venezuela, Russia, China and North Korea are so exceptional.... that they create ... nothing the rest of the world wants.

Now... we do have to give it to China. They have figured out how to use slave labor to build things capitalistic cultures create and invent. Not to mention the different forms of theft and corporate espionage they have employed in order build things.

So... other than all the words he typed. Crappy is right!

"The constitution is a progressive document..."

You hold it dear to your heart do you? Do you acknowledge that it is self-correcting? Do you not want your ideas of what is fair and just to be determined by your peer citizens or their representatives? That's to slow for you? Too hard? Much easier to bully old ladies and kill people who support a different point of view?

You are 100 per cent correct it is a radical document... support it and its processes. Don't undermine it.
