There’s got to be at least a dental assistant on here to help this beautiful lady..

If ur in pain, rub clove power all over the abscess in the meanwhile

cavity or root canal?
what area live?
with the covid thing going on...most dentists are working with existing clients only...might be able to get in with an emergency...but might take a week
hot or cold sensitivity? pressure?
if you put hot water on it a few times...does pain get worse and takes a long while to calm it down? if so it's probably infected. they will put you on antibiotics for 3 days before doing anything...if you have some "OLD unused" amoxacillian...start taking it and it will help with the pain if you have it...might take a little over 24hrs if you take about 50percent extra the first night.
i just got done dealing with this and was caught with pain during the covid lock downs

it's always good to have a few pills of antibiotics left for these reasons...or to bridge the time to get to doctor...cuts down on the days of pain that need to endure

His handle used to be fungent4u not sure what his new handle is but I’m sure someone here knows his new handle... I’m sure he would be more than happy to see you.

You might want to try calling around to see who is open to patients. Just had one of my previous dentists call me for a check up.

|
try toothdoc

What ever you do don't listen to the advice of people here on HX except for recommendations. As you know most of us are unlikely to be medical professionals or dentists.
I get allergies in the Spring that make some of my upper teeth feel like I need a root canal stat! Really I just need to remember to take allergy meds, pain killers and some decongestants. Only a doctor and a dentist can tell you that though.

Go to your local pharmacy store and get mouthwash for oral pain, try something like Orajel, Dentek or something similar and also rinse with salt and warm water. Then make an appointment with a local dentist, they are seeing patients, new and existing. Next, stop eating/drinking sugary garbage.
|
|
And don't tell the dental office you have an emergency, they will charge more. Call around and see who can get you in the quickest, if the pain is unbearable then you may need to schedule an emergency visit.
Many Americans don't have health/dental insurance and the Republicans still have no plan.

I might be
Depends on your form of payment
Wink wink nudge nudge

Many Americans don't have health/dental insurance and the demoncrats still have no plan except medicare for all, and medicare sucks, you as well have no insurance
|
|
also...floss the shit out of your teeth or around the tooth if there is some pain...sometimes it's just gum irritation that can cause pain and that can make it go away
above(heat) was simple tests to see if there is an infection....you still need to get to a dentist/Endodontists to get it fixed.
|
|
@Facephuckker offering no solution and responding with inaccurate statements. That's what Republicans usually do.
|
|
@NPemBrush
you're exactly correct about getting advice from nonexperts, but I did sleep at a Holliday Inn Express
last night, does that count????/

sometimes there is pain without an infection...in those cases get to a dentist when you can
if there is an infection...hurry your ass to a dentist to get the antibiotics...most likely won't treat you for 3 days to a week after being on the meds...which is fine, the meds will help reduce the pain/inflammation and help for quicker recovery after the procedure.
the hot water test is to see how fast you need to go and find a dentist...like same or next day...not a week
if an infection goes too long...it can start moving thru your jaw, ears and brain...with some very bad consequences

I do not know, endorse, nor have any experience with any of the dentists in the link but I have heard nothing but positive statements from a few people who have gone South for dentistry. Recently, a friend of mine told me his experience with a dentist in Tijuana was pleasant and less costly than his insured dentist in California. He did say the drawback was having to wait in a long line to come home, though that line may not be as bad now due to Covid-19. There is also the risk of catching Covid-19 while travelling, even if it is a short distance, so you have to be careful.

I got pliers, Esmee.
Let me at that Sucker!
|
|
@eamee you could try contacting dental schools located at certain colleges. Many offer low cost dental work, but I don't know what the school situation in cali is due to covid

Y’all are amazing!!! Thank you for all the good advice and recommendations 💗
I lost a temporary tooth that I had ... I’m mid way through an implant. . . I didn’t know my Bakersfield dentist has an office in LA too... so I was able to get it in and taken care of...
Thanks again y’all and too all the pm’s ...
I love it when community comes through💗

My pliers are here when you need them.
|
|
Becareful with what you eat, try avoiding placing excessive pressure or chewing on hard things on the side with that temporary or directly on the temp. I hope you were not chewing on almonds, peanuts, or carrots. Also careful with the flossing.
Did the the temporary crack partially, completely, or fall out?

Lol my other post was feted and all the sudden this old one is up… 🥴
