Take the train like my friend’s homie does.

Rosarito Beach is just south of TJ, so it's as safe of a drive as there is.
|

Play it smart when traveling into Mexico, be smart. Covid has made for desperate people.
One of my buddies who has an AirBNB in Rosarito has been shanghaied, and he is a former cop, so he knows how to be careful.

I spent 6 weeks in Mexico driving around. I had a blast, although it has been a decade since I did the trip I would love to do it again. Stay out of Baja, nothing but jerkoffs down there.
Check out the state of Oaxaca, stunning beaches, great jungle, beautiful valleys and the people are amazing

Drive the tour bus. Problem solved.

Getting into Mexico is not a problem. Getting out, on the other hand, is a MF!
You will be waiting for hours in lines. I suggest you wait or go to LV, Nev.

I prefer to park Stateside and walk across the border. The few times I've gone on foot, I never stood in line for more than 20 minutes to get a visa in the border patrol building. Took cabs everywhere. The line to walk back into the States was also not bad. Less than 30 minutes from what I recall. WAY easier than driving back. And no one trying to sell you chiclet.

I vote Rosarito

Miss Mila
First off, don’t attempt the drive to Puerto Vallarta by yourself. Cartel stronghold at least 3/4 of the route. The only safe way would be fo you to drive south to La Paz and then take the ferry across to Matazlan and then drive down to Puerto Vallarta. Would be about a 3 day trip. Best bet is to fly there.
Now for Rosarito, easy peazy. You could drive south on the 5 and exit at the last US exit and go park in that parking lot on the right if the exit. There is the famous Red Bus that will take you into downtown Tijuana. There you can get another bus to Rosarito from there. You could drive to Rosarito it’s safe as long as you use the toll roads, but it’s easy to get twisted and miss the exit to go there.
PM me if you need more info. Covid is not as rampant there as here. There in Mexico, they take your temperature before you go into any establishment and make you clean your shoes and disinfect your hands.

I remember when Baja California provided a cozy beach atmosphere where you could sleep on the beach with no worries, surf up and down the coast anytime of day and eat the tastiest sea-food while meeting the friendliest people. What happened to that Mexico?
I will say that the country of Mexico has some of the best looking women on the planet.

Fly to Cabo

Work with a guy from mexico city. Says covid is spreading....nobody wears masks.
|
|
Yes and no. Among the locals and the lower class it’s spreading like wildfire due to lack of resources and strange beliefs (it’s turning people into lizard hybrids.... I shit you not.)
BUT...
The tourist spots have been practically militant in taking care of tourists and the staff that work there. Security, temperature checks, police “enforced” case tracking, extra doctors that are better informed. In these places where tourism is the lifeblood of the communities they are working overtime to keep places clean and get good word of mouth.
|
|
Ugh. More militant? That’s not gonna be relaxing!
|
|
BUT safer
the flip is they kid nap you for a lil 5day NC GB (i guess that's adventure)...maybe let you live when it's over
i would stay the fuck out of there
|
|
Why go to Mexico 🇲🇽 and get robbed when you can find friendly paces in the US?
|
|
Militant as in bending over backwards to help keep tourists safe and happy.
|
|
I love Cabo Puerto Vallarta but right now I wouldn’t go to Mexico.... hell you can stay here and get robbed and beaten up by antifa and BLM!

Without naming names, our office had a summer getaway for the top wiinning sales person/team to Cabo.
Summer sales were so good that the powers-that-be paid for 5 separate winners (package deal).
Everyone has come back with great safe stories.
Tourist Cabo is safe, but beware going outside of the tourist zone.

For me personally, Mexico got old. I think Japan sounds fun! .

I would suggest driving into Baja for sure. Just make sure you get the Mexican auto insurance. Before the virus I was running motorcycle off road tours up and down the peninsula. I've seen some of the most beautiful sights down there. The people are very nice. You will have to go through some military check points, which may seem intimidating but are just routine. I've worked more than 30 tours without any issues. There are some amazing beaches and food down there. I'm in love with the place. I always run into single females from all over the world hitch hiking up and down the peninsula, if you can imagine that. It's very safe. All tours are on hold until next month, but we are going down to race the Baja 500 at the end of the month. I hear that the return is a bitch though. Many lanes are closed at San Ysidro and it can take hours to get back over. Let me know if you need the names of places to go in a PM, I can advise you.
ciao

If you are driving to Puerto Vallarta, I would suggest to study the route on google maps so you are familiar with the twist and turns of the road ahead of time. And I would encourage you to learn some basic Spanish. Just like people here in the states get pissed when someone doesn't know the language, same shit in Mexico. There is nothing more stupid than a green-go who doesn't understand a word of Spanish -- especially when you are away from the world famous resorts.
Also do some research on crime. Mostly due to organized crime, the Mex Gov is projecting 2020 as the most violent year in its history. You can get a feel about crime by reading the local news papers, and yea, they are in Spanish. You can access them online. And where ever you go, don't take a taxi by your self that is like writing on you back: "Please kidnap me" By the way, this year Jalisco made it to the top 10 most violent states in Mexico. Jalisco is the state where Puerto Vallarta is located.
But keep in mind that all this killings are among people involved with the cartels. If you are not in that circle you got nothing to fear. You just need to watch out for those thieves at the bottom of the food chain, they are the ones looking for easy targets. So wherever you go in Mexico keep a low profile and don't walk around showing off your Gucci paraphernalia -- be nice and humble and Mex people will act the same towards you...and use some common sense.
By the way, I'm not just talking thru my butt about this. I have gone to Mexico several times. But I don't go to the main resorts. I take the plane and I land on the state of Durango. From there, I drive about an hour and half to Zacatecas.
I stopped taking the plane to Zacatecas bc the main city of the state (Zac) is infested with cartel activity. There are about 5 cartels fight to get control of the state and that includes a cartel from Jalisco -- headed by "Mencho" a guy the likes of El Chapo. So I go to Durango instead bc is alot more peaceful and the city in Zac where I go to border lines with Durango so you are much safer moving around in that area.
So yea be safe out there wherever you go...
