Trump Statement: If General John Kelly is one of J. Goldbergs' sources I would believe him anyday over Trump. What is indisputable is that Trump was over in Paris and was supposed to visit the cemetery. He never showed even though almost all his peers did show as did other senior American officials. What happened? It was a rainy, windy day so Trump decided he didn't what to fly. Arrangement were then made to drive him to the cemetery which was a 60 minute drive. Trump said it wasn't worth his time to take a 60 minute motorcade to the cemetery. Way to respect are fallen soldiers.

Instead, at another time, the FOX new report said he called Vietnam Veterans "suckers" for being in that war.
It should be noted that some of these "suckers" who died for our country and freedom didn't volunteer to do so.

Really, John Bolton is now credible because he defends Trump on the cemetery/disparagement of soldiers issue but was a disgruntled liar about Ukraine and other issues during his tenure as NSC advisor? It seems obvious to me that 2/4 sources for the Atlantic story are Generals Kelly and Dunforth. Both are 4-star generals with impeccable, distinguished careers. Both have not disputed the Atlantic story and both did show up at the cemetery as did other world leaders. Of course, Trump blamed Kelly for not attending when it seems clear that Trump was just using the weather as an excuse not to go. Let's see what is in Woodward's new book (due to be released next week) about the cemetery visit. I am sure that Trump is already freaking out about the negative stuff in the book. Why is there so little positive stuff from former business partners of Trump or staff in the White House. Trump must have set a world record for having the largest number of discontented former employees.
Trump cannot run on his record because it is pitiful. He will be the first President in American history to have reduced job numbers over a 4-year term. Also, the greatest increase in the budget deficit ever. No wall with Mexico and no replacement for Obamacare which he has promised over 15 times
There are still troops in Afghanistan. The Trump Pandemic will have killed over 250,000 Americans by election day. So, all he can due is smear and slander Biden. You would have thought Biden was President from 2016-2020 instead of Trump.

I know that you're well-meaning, but you should surround yourself by people who are smart and consistently have good judgment, not conservative idiots who believe everything they read and are told to think.

If you can think critically and understand facts, then read the study that I linked to this message. Of all of the racial demonstrations that we've had this year, 93% have been non-violent, yet authorities have used force 54% of the time. Do you understand what that means?
There is a problem with the police in this country. Defunding the police doesn't mean gutting their budgets, it means cutting some of their budgets and giving it to the communities to work against the issues that create crime in the first place.
Minorities are not treated equally under the law in this country, and the police do not treat minorities the way they treat white people. The likelihood of dying by the police is much higher for minorities (especially black men) than if you were white. That is an indisputable fact.
Democrat and Republican politicians support the 2nd Amendment right to bare arms almost equally, but Democrats are not beholden to the NRA and want reasonable restrictions to prevent the mass murder that is prevalent in this country.
Republicans are beholden to the interests of big business; they believe in "trickle down" economics. Republicans always want to give money to the rich (who mostly save it and get wealthier) with the "claimed" hope that the money will find its way down to the poor, rather than giving money directly to the poor and middle class that would actually spend that money immediately (because they have to) thus pumping money immediately back into the economy (bubble-up economics).
If you are a low-income white person, or if you're black or hispanic, and you vote for Trump/Republicans in general, then you're voting against your own best interests. You are being fed lies because they can't convince you to vote for them any other way.
Lastly, it would be in my best interests to vote Republican as I would likely pay less taxes and make more money under Republicans over Democrats, but I don't vote only for my best interests but for the best interests of this country and of society in general.
Republicans have sold their souls to the devil while claiming to be morally superior.
