Let's see, in California I think it's something along the lines of repeal civil rights and legalize TOU.
So glad I'm leaving California.

GOOOOOOOD!
|
|
If you can't do the time, don't commit the crime.
Felons should not possess firearms EVER after conviction.
They should not be able to vote EVER.
Pretty simple. You want to vote, want to have a firearm, don't commit a Felony.

What are some more of the propositions?
|
|
Yes on Prop 22. Buys into Uber / Lyft propaganda and as a rider your rates will go up. If you only knew.
|
|
Ask your self this one question, Will it raise taxes ? If yes, then you know which to pick.
|
|
Lol, I didn't say that's how I'm voting on each proposition
That's the OC Register's recommendations
I'm undecided on 17
The point is to get you lazy sumbitches out of your barcalounges to vote
|
|
I'm voting no on 17
|
|
What's the argument to vote yes on 17?
|
|
The only proposition I will vote yes on is Prop 22.

cali suxs!!!!

I’m voting NO across the board..... Unless NO means YES or YES means NO.... Fuckers! Can’t they just write these in normal speak..... Fucking A
|
|
Yes, in many way CA sux
But, if you're staying
You may as well vote
Even though it's a one party state
Pretty funny though
The left left wing is fighting the not quite so left left wing in Sacro
Tried to eliminate SFR zoning but lost at the last minute
Stupid fuckers declared that CA will be 60% renewable energy by 2030 and 100% by 2045
We're at 30% now and we have rolling blackouts already
Plus have to pay other states 10 times the going rate to import electricity
Dumb Progs really know how to fuck shit up.
|
|
Its unfortunate renewables production atm is very energy dependent,
the hardware has a finite lifespan and are non recyclable.
Solar panels & wind turbine blades end in landfills, could be good temporary/transition source for energy on a small scale but we need to think bigger.
Hydrogen fuel cells are interesting.
Why did we stop researching nuclear power again?
|
|
^ Because a bunch of activists made it absolutely impossible to deal with the waste product.

"I’m voting NO across the board..... Unless NO means YES or YES means NO.... Fuckers! Can’t they just write these in normal speak..... Fucking A"
Read prop 22. A yes vote will allow uber and others to remain subcontractors.
Unions are behind the no vote.
Everyone should be able to work the hours they want from a part time app based job..

I don’t see why if a court issues a 3, 5, 10 or 20 year sentence... that it should become a life sentence.
If someone commits a crime, does their time and is released back into society, I think as a citizen, they should be able to vote. That is not a right/privilege I would extend to someone currently “in the system.” They forfeit that right until they fully complete serving their sentence.
|
|
If a person is convicted of a violent crime... or a crime that involves use of a weapon, I’m fine with them losing the right to possess a firearm.
I’m not sure how restricting Larry the accountant, who embezzled the snack box profits for years, makes anyone more safe.
With that said, it’s probably a nightmare to consider all of the nuances to applying the restriction... so, making it a flat standard makes sense.
|
|
If you think that Uber and Lyft treat drivers unfairly, then just don't work for them. Learn some real skills and get a real job. I will say the same thing about burger-flippers that demand $15/hour for their limited skill set. If your goal is to set yourself up with a menial type job with the expectations of maintaining a middle-class lifestyle, then you clearly don't have much ambition in life.

"it’s probably a nightmare to consider all of the nuances to applying the restriction... so, making it a flat standard makes sense."
Liberal Democrats LOVE complicating otherwise simple issues as it provides a solid employment stream to their lawyer buddies. That's their same rationale for wanting to allow gender-confused to use public restrooms intended for women. It's also the reason that they oppose "build to rule" legislation to solve the housing crisis in California. Make things complicated, and it gives them the opportunity to step in and make decisions to appease their particular whims of the moment.

I voted “Yes” on 22.
AB5 was Sacramento’s effort to make App based companies hire drivers as employees rather than drivers hire themselves and use an app to connect with customers.
Unfortunately AB5, rather than just target Uber/Lyft/DoorDash/Postmates etc... as was it’s intention, it impacted the entire California “gig ecconomy.” There are hundred’s of thousands of “small business” owners that operate as independent contractors.
It’s unintended consequences stifled the exchange of services across the state. Musicians, Artists, Care workers and dozens of other industries where people hire themselves out as independent contractors were essentially put out of business.... all because the legislature wanted to target ‘App based Driver industry.”
For the majority of drivers... it is a “side hustle.” They had other jobs... this was how they would make extra money.
Ie: I have a friend who is a teacher. His daughter is headed to college. He started driving “Uber/Lift/DoorDash to make extra money to buy her a car.
Many “Truckers” own or lease their truck and use App based “brokers” to find loads... just like Ride Share drivers. The government had to do a quick “carve out” for them or most of them would have been out of work.
AB5 was a poorly written law that, while it would help some, damaged the ability of the MAJORITY of “gig workers” ability to make money.
22 doesn’t fix it for everyone... but it is an acceptable middle ground. Those who are trying to make their living doing “App based” driving... will get some benefits.... but will lose their ability to work for multiple companies to acquire those benefits.
If you split your time between Uber and Lyft... most will not get enough hours each week with either one to qualify for benefits. If you go with one... you will get an hourly base and qualify for benefits.... but your “rides” will be fewer and farther apart... thus limiting income potential.
In my case, I hired about 12 independent contractors each month for projects to lighten the load on employees. AB5 made me stop hiring those 12 that worked for me and 3 or 4 other companies. I hired 2 and increased the work load of current employees.
So... 27 people ended with a “net loss.” 2 people ended up with a “win.” In most cases... that’s bad math.
|
|
OK, so 22 is supposed to fix AB5, because of the unintended consequences it had.
The problem is that the way 22 is written, it will be impossible to fix it in the future, once it's unintended side-effects are found, based on the majority vote required to amend it.

If you are a strict constructionist of the Constitution it says all citizens 18 and older can vote. There are no disqualifiers
|
|
22 wont fix AB5... it only fixes a narrow scope of the wide range of problems it created.
22 is in no way perfect...
Perfect is often the enemy of the good.
Not getting everything should not be an excuse to do nothing.

You must be really fucking stupid to take voting advice from an obnoxious troll. I'll bet you and luv.bj probably vote the same way, two fucking dumbass idiots.

I’m really feeling your anger and rage Corny. Keep it up.
Your ability to influence is growing. I can feel it.
