It's OK. It's just the Apocalypse.

This is fine.

Let's not forget that at least one Antifa member has been captured and arrested for starting one of the fires in Oregon. We cannot assume all of these fires started on their own.
|
|
Well a gender reveal in Alpine started that fire stuff is crazy.
|
|
Normally I scoff at the new reports liking to use "acres" of square miles because it sounds so huge. In this case, yeah even converted to miles it's a big fire.
As for Gender reveal? I'm for it but only if you can tint a 50 megaton nuclear explosion blue or pink.

Can never trust those National Forester guys to put out fires. Gotta call the CalFire guys to do that.
Also, so far no one has been arrested for starting any of these fires yet that I’ve heard about. Any reputable evidence an antifa member was arrested for arson?
|

THERE IS NO "ANTIFA" CONNECTION TO THESE FIRES. STOP THE LYING.

The anti facist issue was a Qanon post and is BS acording to law enforcement. Please stop the Bullshit.

They do know who started the El Dorado fire - A family set off fire works for a 'gender reveal' party in a public park.
Can't fix stupid!

^ Reading comprehension not up to speed?
I said they knew how the El Dorado fire started. DIDN'T mention any other fires.

Until they arrest and convict someone the source could have been the Easter Bunny as far as we know.

It could have been Peter "The Pyromaniac" Rabbit.

The creek fire burned up my favorite camp ground at Shaver Lake. So sad. I was supposed to camp there starting yesterday

"Let's not forget that at least one Antifa member has been captured and arrested for starting one of the fires in Oregon."
And is just one. Many others from the reports I'm getting. One car spotted with TX plates trowing cocktails out the window.
And stupid fuck Neutersom and the media is saying Climate change.

I had a trip planned but I'm waiting for the fires to calm. I hoped to be in OC by the 1st but idk the way things are going.
I'm currently in Houston. Houston just sent firefighters your way today. It's so sad. All the wildlife, homes, people. One reason I hate to even turn on the news.
Prayer for all those in harm's way and the people who put their life on the line trying to save others!

Unfortunately, this is the result of climate change, scientists have warned us about these possible consequences since the 1970s. We humans have increased the atmospheric CO2 content by about 30% in the last 100 years by rapidly releasing carbon that has been geologically stored for millions of years by the burning of fossil fuels resulting in the increase in atmospheric CO2 concentration from around 300 PPM to above 400 PPM.
In 2020 due to the various CoV19 lock down globally and the decrease use of cars and planes only resulted in 7% decrease in the of CO2 output levels, this is the level of CO2 reduction we’ll need to reverse climate change, but we know this level of reduction is not sustainable economically for industry; so we as a species are doomed unless we stop adding to the atmospheric CO2 concentration to keep the global temperature rise to only 1.5 degrees – beyond a 2 degree increase will result in further melting of the icecaps and the resultant sea level rise will displace millions, and the concomitant loss of food production will have geopolitical consequences leading to mass starvation and increase the possibility of armed conflicts.
Biden by having the US rejoin the Paris accord is only a ceremonial restart, the international community will need to make some real progress in the reduction and reversal of atmospheric CO2 content, or our species will rapidly destroy the only known Goldilocks planet that can sustain life.

Yes, the Paris accord does virtually NOTHING, since it gives China and India 'passes' for many years to come, indicating they are developing nations. Bullshit. Everyone in the accord should have the same 'reduction' goals.....We cripple our economy, clean up our footprint and air and many of the rest of the world moves on with little change. Until China has their feet held to the same standards, this will be a 'ceremonial' bullshit agreement.

You cannot blame all the fires on global warming. Before man the forests burned on a regular basis when lighting caused fires and there was no fire department to put out the fires. The fire would burn out when it ran out of fuel or it rained. This caused there to be good size fire breaks with the creation of meadows and a varied forest makeup.
This has led to the forest being full of old dead growth which is great fuel for fires to keep growing and going. If the forests would be allowed to thin the way nature intended them to thinned the current fires would be smaller in nature since their would be less fuel.
It is not just Global Warming but also the policies to stop fires without thinking of what that will lead to. You cannot blame all of it on Global Warming.
|
|
I was on that fire for a month. Definitely mismanaged Forrest. Horribly mismanagement by leftist loons.
|
|
I gotta agree this has nothing to do with global warming. Humans in charge of fire management are supposed to manage the risk. You can't prevent all fires just like you can't prevent flooding.

Pine bark beetles are killing pine trees because of the lack of consecutive days below freezing to kill those beetles burrowed into the trees. There's also a pine tree bight that stops the tree from making sap. The sap is also a defense against those same beetles. We need to replant those dead tree forests. You're welcome for teaching your sorry ass ignorant mother fuckers..

|
That should be "blight"
|
|
Well at least it’s not freezing cold
|
|
The problem with warmer patches of heat is you need greater cold fronts to move them. That is why we get the record freezing temps as well.
It's funny to read these old posts and see the antifa blame nonsense. Rep Greene is pushing space lasers built by Jewish scientists and fired by Newsome.

Actually DTFagent many scientists were talking about the coming Ice Age in 1978. It was not until later that the global warming became the story and currently we don't have global warming we now have global climate change.
I wish they would make up their minds.

@MBC Yep. ...and that gives CalFire a pass? We're past the point of preventing global warming now it's about reducing severity. Entire ecosystems are going through change--that change in flora has been going on for more than twenty years.

You are correct in that the forest fires have natural cycles, but climate change has hastened the rate of change, and nature cannot adapt to this increased rate of change caused by burning of fossil fuels increasing the Co2 content of the atmosphere, thereby trapping more of the sun’s energy. Climate change has also affected the weather in terms of precipitation patterns, so droughts will also impact the frequency and ferocity of the forest fires, and stressed trees infestation by pests like the bark beetle which provide more dead trees for fuel. Our poor understanding of the importance on natural burn cycles and the forestry service in putting them out led to the accumulation of brush and undergrowth that will increase the probability of forest fires.
I too have real doubts about how nations will come to an agreement as to how much, who, what, how. No politician wants to devote energy to something they can kick down the road, which is why we are only talking about how to mitigate this planetary scale problem half a century after scientist first sounded the alarm.
The earth will and can deal with the increased Co2 levels in time, the earth started with a reducing atmosphere, oxygen levels increased due to the accumulation after millions of years photosynthesis; the question is will humans as a species survive this rapid climate change so we can prepare to leave this Goldilocks planet in 3-5 billion years before the sun flames out.
This climate problem will not impact my quality of life, I'm only concerned about the survival of our species and the other flora and fauna of this third rock from the sun.

We are nothing but parasites feeding off mother earth. There is nothing we can do now, there are too may of us, it is what it is.
|
|
The main problem is that there are too many people for the planet. And the dumbest people on earth are having the most offspring.
This is an unsolvable problem because while you can fix ignorance, you will never fix religion, stupidity or cultural mores/norms. Imagine the uproar if we tried to control Third World population or the birth rate of the dumbest people in this country (regardless of color, etc.). AOC would be screaming genocide.
China had the right idea with the one offspring policy but they allow 2 now. Even 2 would be great because of natural attrition.
Probably pandemics are the natural way for the planet to achieve some sort of balance but it's too little too late when it comes to humans. We're shitting out new humans faster than they can be eliminated. Exponential growth of human carbon footprints.
