Unless you REALLY need the Pro, get a MacBook Air. Connectivity is a problem for the Pro.
|

I have a 2015 one with all the ports if you dont need latest and greatest.

^^^ £ast model with usb and sd card slot. I foresee @pple phasing out MB air when they switch over to ARM chips..

If you need it to do digital photo and video editing then the MacBook Pro would be the way to go. But if you only need it for basic stuff like email and internet and typing up documents, get the MacBook Air. If you have decent credit, you can buy a new one from Apple and pay 0% interest for 12 months by Applying for the Apple Card.

I need a Surface Pro 7.

Try Newegg or Tigerdirect. They have a wide selection of new and used Macs at good prices.

Surface pro is nice. I have one and really like it.

I wouldn't either. But you can always take the HDD out and put in your own.
I know there are shenanigans you can do with the mobo but I digress.

This article was total bullshit. The claim was subsequently debunked, but it killed a lot of sales for Super Micro. I am surprised it is still up after Bloomberg was forced to take back the story.

Newegg. They do a good job of making sure resold machine’s work splendidly.

Hunter Biden will have one available soon...of course the hard drive will have first been gone through by Hillary Clinton, scrubbed with BleachBit, and any external drives manually smashed to bits with a hammer.
Price is negotiable but not cheap (he knows what he's got), but keep in mind that Hunter makes $10 million a year for "making introductions."

The super micro thing was a weird case of something being covered up, somewhere.
I have heard of Cisco switches being intercepted during shipment and bullshit being written to certain chips, then resealed and sent on its way.
Funny story, one of the clients who's networks I monitor, suddenly spikes with strange IP calls going to Russian endpoints. I call over there and ask if anyone knows of anything new that was just recently plugged into the network? I get hold of the shop manager and he says some guy selling warehouse lighting just installed a trial light with some kind of computer controller. He is unable to explain further, and being the facility is only in Irvine I drive over, see the new light, trace the line going from it to behind a stack of crates where I see the blinking LED's of something connected back there. We forklift the crates out of the way and there is the Raspberry Pi on full display. I unplug it and take it with me.
Some basic examination shows that it is indeed a light controller, also a network sniffer and reports back to some server in Russia. The warehouse manager did say the guy had a Russian accent so this is a new form of attack I haven't seen before.
The weird thing is, this company has nothing that would interest the Russians, unless they are REALLY into trade show booth builds.

The USB and phone chargers dropped in the parking lot has been a thing for a while.
I always tell people to never plug in something to their computer/phone that they found. Or were given, and always buy name brand cables and chargers, not the cheap chinese shit that pays to be the first page on Amazon. Anker is the best 3rd party maker of chargers of all kinds.
Thank goodness for https://www.knowbe4.com/
I always recommend my clients do some of these exercises with their user base.
It used to be that trade show USB chachkies were fun and amusing. Now they all go in the trash.
Such a sad state of affairs.

In this day of HIPAA, it astounds me that this is still possible.
Back in the day when I was learning to root things, I went war driving with a copy of CD bootable knoppix linux and air snort laptop. In those days AP's were completely open, like a bleached lubed butthole, and you could find some real gems being shared to the world without anyone knowing.
Related: file sharing app, Kazaa! I remember when I found where the shared directory was on a host and you could get to the main C: that wasn't supposed to be shared, and man! the real good p0rn stashes were "secret!"

I mean, you can get a full desktop replacement now. $6k and you can have 4k 17" screen and all the bells and whistles. you might need to get a dolly for it to move it around but its portable!
