I don't think Trump will try to fill the vacancy. If he does he admits that he may lose. If he loses he doesn't care about anything but himself in big hurt with a lot of investigations. And why you people of his base worry that he may lose? If he loses the supreme court seat is the least of your worries.

if i am trump and i think we are losing...i push this motherfucker thru...not a better chance out there to get someone "this conservative" on the bench
he can go out with lots of judges, 3 scotus picks....maybe save 50m in legal fees over the rest of his life from bullshit...as the court protects him a bit more
if the blue team comes out and wins...this could keep them at bay for a bit with the courts a little more balanced at the lower levels and stop gap at the top. maybe they pack it? get rid of filibuster in senate altogether?
the inroads into the blacks and browns are a huge positive for the gop...they need to keep plugging into that or will never ever win another election.
making DC a state, making puerto rico a state...the extra senate seats that will always be blue...lets see if trumps 13b will help a bit...looks like a good move in general them...giving them long term viability.

The Dems are scared because Turmp and the GOP majority senate can put a new Justice in place.
And to be honest its the Dem's on fault.
The Dems back in 2013 amended a rule that allowed for a simple majority of 51 votes to override any debate, and this has been used to put judges into service.
Mc Connell back in 2013 told Harry Reid and the Dem's that if they enabled the nuclear option they would come to regret it.
And now they are..
So what do the Dems want to do they want to change the rules again.
The Democrats never play by the rules because if they did they would never win.
THey can only win by fighting dirty...

Granite, you have a point. If Trump fills it, he admits that he may lose, AND the senate majority. Anybody playing that game admits that the Dems may take the Presidency, the Senate and the House. The seat is the least of your worries.
The Senate is supposed to prevent big states from bullying small states into obliviation. Kentucky is not supposed to hold us back from making progress. I can do pretty well without Kentucky but every other person in Kentucky has an iPhone. Fuck Kentucky.

SCOTUS is a big deal but pales in comparison to the aftermath of Nov 3 and not knowing who the next President is for weeks or months.
There's not a single precinct that's ready to count all the bogus mail in ballots
Not to mention the hundreds of lawsuits.

The Left needs to learn how to take the L. Conservatives have lost on many issues, and have mostly been losing the culture war for decades now. But this time, Trump won. Fair and square. Even 3.5 years of Russia Russia Russia investigation turned up nothing.
Trump has done many of the things that the Left has wanted. He ended NAFTA. He brought troops home, and negotiated historic peace agreements. He accomplished prison reform. He created a record high median income, with record low poverty and unemployment rates.
Stop being brainwashed by the war mongering mainstream media that only serves the interests of multinational corporations. They've been lying to you for years. Why would you suddenly believe them now?
Sometimes you win. Sometimes you lose. The people elected President Trump. The people wanted to make America great again, instead of selling America out to multinational corporate interests. Somehow I don't think it is a great idea to wait 4 months to start the process of seating another Supreme Court judge. Another 30 days of confirmation and we are talking about 5 months with a possible 4-4 tie vote on many issues in our volatile times.
We need to get back to 9 quickly.
