I am from that generation and each time I hear that one of my favorites (and even not so favorite) has died just reminds me that I too am getting closer to the gates of hell. Hurry the fuck up motherfucker I want to go have a beer (in the morning) with Jim while we listen to Tom play American Girl (I miss you Tom)

Mac was great and will be missed.
Many years ago i did a long sailboat race to Guadalupe Island and back with Mac's bass player Marty T. Lots of fresh lobster a groupie stories while anchored in Guadalupe.

He had some great songs. Elvis Presley singing his A Little Less Conversation is pretty catchy for us old fucks. It was funny to see him playing an NFL quarterback at 5'9" in North Dallas Forty but he did a good job. It sucks ass getting old - at the end he looked like a lesbian librarian. He was a good looking guy.

Actually that boat race about a week. We had to anchor at the south end for 2 days... Guadalupe is about 260 nautical miles dead south of San Clemente Island and 100 miles off the Baja coast.
The mexican navy uses it for target practice and there are fishing villages at the south end.
We got heaps of fresh lobster, crab and Dorado in trade for 2 cases of Coors, tequila and 3 Playboy magazines. We ran out of butter...
