You are half correct in that we as voters deserve better than this, and this debate was a total disaster and that two party system may be to be blamed at.
However, I would hold Trump more responsible in creating chaos deliberately in this debate in order to interrupt Biden's argument to be heard.
It was Trump's usual tactic because he can not defend his 4 years of failure in our politics, other than blaming someone else.

Did you really watch the debate? Was there a single moment where you looked at Joe and went.... “Yeah! That’s my guy!” Or ... were there a few moments where you said, “Ok... that wasn’t that bad.”
After about 20 minutes, I was like... “Why am I watching this?”

We already know Joe is not a perfect person as we all are, but we still have to make a distinction between Trump and Biden is that the latter is trying to become a better public servant whereas the former is nothing but a self promoting capitalist whose interest resides only within himself, not for public good.
Trump never learned anything about what public servant means last four years, and only thing he did was to divide and conquer his voters with deception and lies.
After all as 2016 presidential election was all about branding effort to save his failing business empire.
We all remember his facial expression when he was announced as a elected president. He did not expect to win, that was his "oh shit" moment of his life.
He should have resigned a long time ago, not he can't because his entire business is at a stake.

The debates where pretty bad..
I think the debates took Trump out of his element. Trump is a show man and feeds of the crowd, You can see this by watching his previous debates and his rallies.
The other thing is Joe really did not have much of a plan but he did attack Trump some on the issues but alot of those attacks were cheap shots and Joe Biden also straight up lied and made false accusations about Trump and then moderator would not allow, Trump to respond to those lies and false accusations.
Furthermore the Moderation was clearly favored in Biden's direction. The moderator asked Trump to renounce White supremacist and right wing extremism????
This is not an issue in our nation and the violence and rioting is coming from the left, so why would the moderator frame the question in that manner, unless he was trying to play to a specific narrative
Voter fraud is a huge issue and Trump really was starting to tear into the isssue and the moderator just ended the Debate...
The moderation was bad and all you people who call Fox News conservative really need to reassess that.
Hannity and Ingram are conservative. Tucker is a libertarian and the Five is also mostly conservative except for Juan Williams.

Why was biden wearing a wire? And the NYT called him out on his booming economy lie. They said it wasn't booming in 2016 because growth was less than 2% and they said the pandemic recession isn't Trump's fault. Biden was a rattled, strange, bumbling mess. Definitely needs more medication

It was Roy Cohn's idea to setting up so called Conservatism propaganda channel Fox news by introducing his client Rupert Murdoch and Ronald Reagan, and of course, his another client Trump.
News channel credibility continually went down as Fox news became more popular among Republicans and Libertarians by promoting any news that fits their agenda.

Biden may gaffe prone but nobody beats Eric Trump's "coming out" as gay on Fox. Biden stayed away from criticizing the Trump kids last night because making fun of the mentally challenged is going way to low.
It is one thing to embellish how well the economy performed when you were VP it is quite another to blatantly lie about the amount of taxes you paid. The freakin NY Times has his tax returns and the guy still can't tell the truth. He could have said, none of your fucking business or I carried over huge losses that reduced my tax bill in 2016 and 2017 but he just goes right to lying. How can you believe anything this lying SOB says? Trump makes Bill Clinton look like a saint.

I have to agree that deforestation in the Amazon Rain Forest is a significant problem, but the typical Democrat answer of throwing money at a problem indiscriminately is probably not the right answer. The Paris Agreement was just like the Kyoto Protocol. Neither were treaties ratified by the Senate. Obama and Clinton attempted to commit billions of tax dollars to foreign nations with no accountability. Bribing other nations to do the right thing does not have a good track record.
Maybe when we can control the burning of our own forests we can give other nations better advice.

The Proud Boys came into being because Antifa would go to colleges and intimidate and beat up people who would attend conservative meetings that would have speakers.

I have fought with various family members, staunch Republicans who strongly support Trump, ever since he was elected. They were immovable in their positions until now. After the NYT article on Trump’s taxes was released, showing him to be a sham business man and susceptible to foreign influence because of his enormous debt, they are suddenly acknowledging that my criticisms have been accurate all along. Finally, progress is being made.
Trump’s performance last night should disappoint all Americans. It shows a man who is desperate to stay in power, likely because he will be prosecuted otherwise, and is willing to demean the office and our country’s image in the process. He needs to be removed from office so that our country can regain its image as a world leader. This is what we get for electing a reality show star to the most powerful position on earth: complete embarrassment.

1) Biden called Antifa an "idea" not a terrorist org. Not sure why Wallace didnt point blank ask Joe to denounce Antifa.
2) Biden said he would shut down the economy *again* for COVID.
3) Biden completly avoided answering the question related to packing the courts.
4) Trump trounced Biden on Law & Order issues. Trump has the backing of law enforcement across the country. When Trump asked Biden to name one single law enforcement org that backs him Joe couldnt name anything.
