You can't control yourself to not look at a pic?
|
|
HX is not like IG where if you block another user (on IG) you cant see each others content or DM them. On IG blocking someone completly isolates you from them.
On HX i think blocking is limited to PM contact only. You can still see their posts and I think they can see yours.
I've never been blocked so not sure of the exact details.

I blocked OP a long time ago so I wouldn't have to see these stupid blogs
|

If you’re trying to block someone so you can’t see their posts on any of the boards, private or public, no you cannot.
If you’re trying to block someone so you don’t see their classifieds, no you cannot.
If you’re trying to block someone from sending you a PM, yes you can. There are a few different ways to do it. Easiest way is to wait till they send you a PM. Click the blue power I on near their name and you will have blocked them from further messaging you.

thank you Mr. Colossus and Mr. Jackrabbit.
Mrs. Lousifer and Mrs. Notsofast, hilarious! Thanks for the hearty laugh.
Does anybody know the logic behind the way blocking is now?

I am blocking all of you

Imagine trying to read a blog with only half the comments showing. Would get annoying really fast.
|

I see your point, but depending on the author I might disagree. The consistently moronic posts of some individuals is exhausting.
|
|
Why did you look at me when you said that?
|
|
So you can’t read dissenting viewpoints?
|
|
Of course I can read dissenting viewpoints Mr. Colossus.
When a poster constantly and invariably posts misinformation and propaganda that has to be sifted through it does not increase the enjoyment of my time spent here.
Also some like to constantly post pictures, as is their right, but I might prefer to see other less prolific posters in the new photo section.
It's not a big deal, I'm just curious if there's a reason why it's not available.

The first amendment is why basically

So that we can all suffer from it......together
|
|
1st Amendment doesn't apply to private sites like this.
The 1st Amendment says that the government can't arrest you or jail you or fine you for something you said or wrote.

Racist!

20th century format.

You need 10 people to simultaneously wish that said person doesn't post anymore and voila no more posts from DudeLebowski....at least until after the election I believe.

Thank you for this message. Only took a year for me to use it. Don’t know why he messages me loll! One year of his emails wasting my time.

"You can't control yourself to not look at a pic?"
It's not a matter of looking at pics, it's a matter of bandwidth. There aren't a whole lot of filters available other than age and sex/gender, and if I do a search, there are going to be hundreds or thousands of individuals coming up, the vast majority of whom I have NO interest in meeting whatsoever. If we had the option of at least selecting some type of mutual blocking, I can gradually thin out the profiles to the point where I can do a lot more productive search. Mutual blocking would also do the people I blocked a favor as well, as my profile would never be visible to them and I won't have to deal with the situation of being contacted by somebody for whom I have no interest. I can't understand why the designers/coders of this site did not choose to incorporate such a useful feature.

Obviously it was not important enough.
