"An obvious case is communism. Capitalism is the enemy, while worker control and the end of private property is the heaven, and the means to achieve the goal is violent expropriation. Socialism is a softer version of the same: in the Fabian tradition, you get there through piecemeal economic planning.
The ideology of racism posits something different. The hell is ethnic integration and race mixing, the heaven is racial homogeneity, and the means of change is the marginalization or killing off of some races...
This year has given us a new ideology with totalitarian tendencies. It has a vision of hell, of heaven, and a means of transition. It has a unique language apparatus. It has a mental focus. It has signalling systems to reveal and recruit adherents.
That ideology is called lockdown. We might as well add the ism to the word: lockdownism.
Its vision of hell is a society in which pathogens run freely. Its heaven is a society managed entirely by medical technocrats whose main job is the suppression of all disease. The mental focus is the viruses and other bugs. The anthropology is to regard all human beings as little more than sacks of deadly pathogens. The people susceptible to the ideology are the people with various degrees of mysophobia, once regarded as a mental problem now elevated to the status of social awareness.
This year has been the first test of lockdownism. It included the most intrusive, comprehensive, and near-global controls of human beings and their movements in recorded history. Even in countries where the rule of law and liberties are sources of national pride, people were put under house arrest. Their churches and businesses were closed. The police have been unleashed to enforce it all and arrest open dissent. The devastation compares with wartime except that it was a government-imposed war on people's right to move and exchange freely. We still cannot travel.
And remarkably, after all of this, what remains missing is the empirical evidence, from anywhere in the world, that this shocking and unprecedented regime had any effect on controlling much less stopping the virus. Even more remarkably, the few places that remained fully open (South Dakota, Sweden, Tanzania, Belarus), points out Will Jones, lost no more than 0.06% of their population to the virus, in contrast to high deaths lockdown New York and Britain.
Early on, most people went along, thinking that it was somehow necessary and short term. Two weeks stretched to 30 days which stretched to 7 months, and now we are told there will never be a time when we don't practice this new public-policy faith. It's a new totalitarianism. And with all such regimes, there is one set of rules for the rulers and another for the ruled."

Except in California where I was not allowed to have a legitimate profession, under threat of arrest and loss of license, which HAS happened to many people. You haven't noticed people getting arrested for opening their salons, gyms, restaurants, etc? In California and elsewhere?
I even got an email from the licensing board saying they will take your license if you're caught going against the un-Constitutional executive orders parading as laws. The state of California has their thugs out there, getting people's licenses revoked.
But what's really *stupid* about the Left is the way they advise people to break orders that they simultaneously support. What the fuck kind of sense does that make?

What do happy endings have to do with a professional license? Apparently you would rather women give happy endings than have a real career. Why is the happy ending OK, but the real career is not? Does the happy ending magically make people immune to covid?
Kind of like how burning an American flag, or attacking a federal building, or burning down a small business, or terrorizing innocent diners and drivers, magically makes mobs of people immune to spreading covid?

Look at Michael Cohen, Scaramucci, they have been to excellent schools and they have sharp brain yet, they have been deceived by Trump's glitchy lies and deceptions. Now they have regretted that they were fools.

Remember, it’s because of Trump’s obvious lack of leadership and response to Coronavirus that we had to lockdown for so long, basically twice, and shut down industries. Most of the world were open MONTHS ago. Almost 3/4 of Americans disapprove of Trumps response to Covid....and now he just got Covid LOL. KARMA IS A BITCH, ain’t it, but gotta love it sometimes.

I haven't been brainwashed by anyone. I rightly vote against anyone who destroys my life and my country. Kat thinks we have tried to destroy her life because we wanted a means to control the transmission of the virus, and this affected her ability to make a living.
Kat hopefully will grow up and come to the realization one day that there were no good answers when we were dealing with a virus we knew very little about and tried to (and succeeded) prevent deaths that would have been much higher had hospitals become inundated with cases of COVID.
If we had done absolutely nothing and let the virus run rampant, there would have also been a disastrous economic outcome. With hospitalization out of control in various places at different times, a scared society would have negatively impacted jobs and the economy. And there also would have been health casualties from the horror unleashed in our country. Just ask people in New York City, after they witnessed the horrors of COVID almost out of control (see link).
All of the misery that has come about is due to the virus, not human beings. Maybe Kat will realize that one day.
I'm sorry you have suffered, Kat, but suffering was a guaranteed outcome when the virus became a pandemic.
