I think Pence will not fuck up like Trump and be overly aggressive and negative. I think he will try to paint a positive image for what the Trump administration has done over the past 3 years and may try to put a positive face on Trump's coronavirus policy. I think he will do this more than go on the attack against Biden and Harris, although I'm sure he'll get a few subtle digs in. This overall strategy may prove useful because it will give Trump a template on what to do when he debates Biden next, if Trump can be disciplined enough to follow it, which is doubtful in my opinion.
Harris will be on the attack, but she could overreach if Pence is affable and remains positive.

Harris does NOT have a good command of the administration’s failures on COVID-19. She didn’t do her homework. Disappointed she said she wouldn’t take the vaccine if Donald Trump said it was safe . Very political.
Pence is doing a great job making the Trump administration look competent on Covid, although we know that’s not true.
