Oh sure, give me the finger for checking someone's accuracy. Don't make me pull out my red pen. I will put a smiley face on your boobs when you are not looking.
|

Dumb question.
|

Wait, you get a pass because you're hot. Ask away.

Well... I don’t mind fat checkers. There should not be a weight limit for grocery store workers. But it is funny when the strings on their apron Can’t reach all the way around.

How about we put one fact to rest. If you know anything about medicine, the New England Journal of Medicine is considered to be one of the most respected (if not the most respected) publication reporting on medical issues over its 208-year history.
In an editorial signed by nearly three dozen editors, the journal said the Trump administration has "taken a crisis and turned it into a tragedy" regarding the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, writing the "magnitude of this failure is astonishing."
Here, the New England Journal of Medicine is your fact checker regarding the Trump administration’s handling of the Covid-19 crisis.

Courts do not rule on feelings, or they are not suppose to.
Who is the watch dogs of the fact checkers. Would there answers cause more confusion ?

Oh...the New England Journal of Medicine urges people to vote Trump out of office.
This is the first time it has ever commented on a Presidential election.
|

^Best indictment of Trump on Covid I've ever read. And it's all true!
|
|
thought a science magazine did the same thing a few weeks ago...first time in the history of it or 175 years
FUCK!! the world is coming down on trump dammit...this is reminding me of 2016 to the 9th degree...nobody on the LEFT is going to leave a stone unturned to get the bad orange man out of the white house
that mag has been having issues with its bias...lots of doctors won't touch it...maybe the liberal ones or the ones that need something published so they can make some money
I skimmed it...wasn't that impressive
|
|
also an article out about doctors wanting the head of CDC (Redfield) to fire himself and come out against the Trump admin. That way Trump can't refute any of it? I think they want it done before the election also
let's see how that one goes
|
|
when Fauci and Burks(the renowned scientists) came up with the plan (at the end of march), that trump followed? what were these people saying then?
what was that plan again? what was it supposed to do? did it work?
|
|
that's a funny one sam...you see a difference in it?
Biden almost got to tout it at his debate, but couldn't get the thought out of his head
|
|
sometimes for an ounce of credibility...it's good to just acknowledge and acquiesce a point...no need for dumbass deflections like that
Biden has the labor unions...so you have that
let's see how many deflections come out of each block...these are typically the people that stay very quiet

The key points of the New England Journal of Medicine article are:
The Trump Administration “dangerous incompetence” resulted in:
1. Tens of thousands of needless deaths.
2. Loss of faith in our internationally respected governmental health institutions.
3. The economic fallout of this incompetence has cost the US hundreds of billions of dollars and millions of jobs.
These are the facts.
Concluding paragraphs:
“Our current leadership takes pride in the economy, but while most of the world has opened up to some extent, the United States still suffers from disease rates that have prevented many businesses from reopening, with a resultant loss of hundreds of billions of dollars and millions of jobs. And more than 200,000 Americans have died. Some deaths from Covid-19 were unavoidable. But, although it is impossible to project the precise number of additional American lives lost because of weak and inappropriate government policies, it is at least in the tens of thousands in a pandemic that has already killed more Americans than any conflict since World War II.
Anyone else who recklessly squandered lives and money in this way would be suffering legal consequences. Our leaders have largely claimed immunity for their actions. But this election gives us the power to render judgment. Reasonable people will certainly disagree about the many political positions taken by candidates. But truth is neither liberal nor conservative. When it comes to the response to the largest public health crisis of our time, our current political leaders have demonstrated that they are dangerously incompetent. We should not abet them and enable the deaths of thousands more Americans by allowing them to keep their jobs.“

I appreciate those who fact check. Just make sure you have sources available to verify your claims.
Also, be aware you may not change anyone's mind despite presenting verified research.

People who are emotionally invested in an arguement become irrational; that's something that happens to everyone. On the extreme they will dismiss everything the moment it conflicts with their view.
I used to run into this the general public but now I only have to deal with peers. Some who put their heart and soul into something only to run head first into counter arguments or find their entire line of reasoning was wrong.
Someone, somewhere will assume this who rant is liberal or conservative. I'll just sigh. Science is a process that's neither. Scientific method is a tool not a political or religious plot.
|
|
Probably the US is the most politicized and divided country in the entire planet over this coronavirus pandemic, and that is a health issue to begin with. Even communist China had a better reasoning for containing it even though they made mistakes at the beginning.
What Trump did was to blame China, and walk away from WHO, and isolated this worldwide issue for his political gain. That was all he did and he keeps going at it.
|
|
And worst of all, most Republicans ignore this fact and still support Trump as if this tragedy does not count. They are totally blind for what is going on in this country.
|
|
And stating that Americans born rebellious is not a good reasoning for this political division on this health issue, and it is rather stupid to say it, because that means Americans are not reasonable, and they are incapable of differentiating between health issues and political issues.

Thinking OP meant contact tracing?
|
|
I think OP brought up an interesting and important topic.
Facts matter.
Truths matter.
It is impossible to argue (or have an intelligent discussion) with people who are using false information.
If you love this country and want it to flourish and retain it's standing in the world, we need to do whatever is in the best interest of the country.
Patriots are not fact and science deniers.
American individualism should not come at the expense of public safety.
Patriots must defend this country from all enemies, both foreign and domestic.
Looking past politics, for the first time in our history, our President is clearly an enemy of America and all Americans. He does not have our best interests at heart and he has ruined our standing in the world. He has demonstrated that he only acts in his best interests. He has divided us and we need to come together for the sake of the country. These are facts.

I agree 100% with this statement

“Even communist China had a better reasoning for containing it“
You do realize they had the ability to impose literal “lockdowns?” Not like our strongly worded suggestions.
People were literally locked in their homes. If you violated it... you were arrested/confined.
I’m not advocating that approach but pointing out it is an entirely different tool bag they had to work with.
Here, people have parties, go to bar-b-ques, rallies, protests, worship services, etc...
Here, people sue the government because their local Starbucks was closed.
I know... It’s Trump’s fault people are so rebellious. It’s Newsome’s fault most of California is still restricted and surging in the wrong direction.
Why not just realize Americans are selfish assholes who make decisions based on what they want at any given moment?
|
|
@Kaiser
Shhhhh... people don't want to know they're selfish assholes; it's easier to blame someone or something else.
|
|
If we had a strictly followed mask mandate with contact trace testing, we would have a nearly fully operating economy months ago.
Being rebellious when society needs you to do the right thing for public safety isn't being individualistic, it's being dumb and selfish.

To KS
My intention was not that I tried to defend China's tactics to contain the virus, however they achieved their goals with totalitarian methods.
What about other Asian or European democratic countries. Did they ever politicize about this pandemic, their politicians and citizens in those countries?
In Taiwan and Korea, their citizens sacrificed their freedom voluntarily to cooperate with their government policies in containment. In Japan, government were not too strong on its containment policies, but the citizens had a common sense, and they willingly wear masks and keep social distance and minimized their infection (can you imagine in that crowded Tokyo subways? It is worse than NYC subways. Honestly I have no idea how they kept infection at minimum)
I can not think of any other country with such a division and a politicization as it has been in the US, and the worst of all, the current administration was against science and facts, and despite Trump knew around January that this virus is easily transmittable to anyone, he paraded wearing masks is not necessary, and he proudly demonstrated in front of everyone, especially to his base. That was the point what Kamara Harris made in last night's debate, and it was a proven fact (please do read "Rage" by Bob Woodward).
|
|
And I believe one of the worse decision Trump made was to leave WHO and stopped US contribution to the organization.
It is a worldwide issue, and unless we cooperate with other countries, how can we contain the virus?
You have to ask the question to yourself.
This Trump' purely selfish and partisan decision would produce more casualty worldwide and make this problem last longer than it is necessary.

go back to the march presentation...do you remember it???
AS of March, the BAD news presented by Fauci and Burkes was what???
the article left out a few things about China and the WHO? what were those things???
IF you can't acknowledge any of those things from that journal piece? talking about this is pretty worthless...HALF the people are just on different sides of this thing and nothing is going to change that.
the Asian countries that handled this are definitely more able to push their people around without consequence...BUT there has to be something to the travel between those countries and china also that can be skewing the numbers so much...the numbers for some Asian countries are so low? that's almost impossible if the travel was SIMILAR between all countries and china
start with the first two or three and we can work down to the Asian country successes

even the BBC is fact-checking
PRETTY MUCH sinks the main reason Biden claims he entered the race for...to take out this racist president
Claim 3: President Trump said there were "very fine people on both sides", when asked about a far-right rally in 2017.
Mr Biden said one of his goals would be to "wipe out the stain of racism" and he recalled the far-right protests in Charlottesville, Virginia in 2017 which led to violent clashes and left one counter-protester dead.
He said: "Remember what the President said when asked, he said there were, quote, very fine people on both sides".
Mr Biden said that after this moment "I knew I had to run" for president.
According to a transcript of a press conference on 15 August, President Trump did say - when asked about the presence of neo-Nazis at the rally - "you had some very bad people in that group, but you also had people that were very fine people, on both sides."
During the same press conference, Mr Trump went on to say "I'm not talking about the neo-Nazis and the white nationalists because they should be condemned totally."
---THINK that last sentence is still a little WEAK...it was pretty instantaneous when it followed...same press conference means it could be 20min later. BUT it's a start
|
|
pretty fucking embarrassing when the REASON you claim to run for president is a LIE (will it matter to the voters?? NOPE...dumb MF'rs)
how does that happen?
