Locked. No further comments permitted. This is how the electoral map stands right now; Trump, give up all hope
Oct 11 2020 02:40AM more by SonOfAdams
Tags: LA, Current Events (All tags)

"Trump's standing in the NPR electoral map analysis has gotten worse. With states that are determined to be likely to go for either candidate or leaning toward them, Democrat Joe Biden now leads Trump, 290-163.

"Here are the moves we've made in this month's map:

Wisconsin: Toss-Up —> Lean D
Arizona: Toss-Up —> Lean D
Nebraska 2nd Congressional District: Toss-Up —> Lean D
Iowa: Lean R —> Toss-Up
Nebraska 1st Congressional District: Likely R —> Lean R
Missouri: Likely R —> Lean R
Alaska: Likely R —> Lean R

"That puts Biden — right now — above the 270 electoral vote threshold needed to win a majority of the 538 available, leaving Trump with an uphill climb to win reelection. It comes with less than a month to go in the election — and with millions of votes already cast.

"To put Biden's lead in context, even if Trump wins all the remaining toss-up states, it would not be enough for him to win. The president would need to make gains in the next three weeks in states now leaning toward Biden."

What's that I hear? The sound of millions of Republicans who're in denial shouting? And the rest of them crying?

Very interesting.... (not really)

Adams... you do realize most... if not all state races... even close to the polls margin of error.... will probably break towards Trump?

Trump is the one that has “silent” voters. The ones who aren’t talking about the election, participating in polls, going on social media and screaming about the election (although he has those too)

Biden needs to be WAY ahead the polls... and... as we learned in 16... even that doesn’t really mean much.

Your passion is noteworthy. You are HX’s Crane counterbalance.

It is kind of funny how much emotion, effort and energy some of you guys put into trying to substantiate your desired outcome.

In a few weeks the race will be over.... but the real crying will have just begun. One side is going be inconsolable..... and I will enjoy watching so many people stand in puddles of their meaningless tears.

😭

Who said anything about “undecided?” That’s you, either not reading.... or not comprehending what you read. But your noted narcissism... won’t let you admit you misread/misinterpreted my comment.

I said there is a large group of voters that have been silent. They just live their lives. They go work, take care of the family, cut the grass and don’t talk about politics with their friends, family and on social media.

They will just mail in their ballot or show up to vote. They are not “undecided” ... they are very decided... just not loud about it.

Those people aren’t factored into the “poll numbers”... and they don’t care that they aren’t. They will just vote and let the chips fall where they may.

As a result, watch.... where you see “toss-up” based on the polls... bet it will break towards trump.

At this point, there are a minimal amount of undecideds...

I’m not a Trump guy... didn’t vote for him in 16. Didn’t vote for him in 20 (mailed ballot yesterday).

I just don’t hate him. I don’t hate Biden either. Joe is OK... he is way past his “sell by” date and by January will have passed his “expiration date”

Mountains? Camping or cabin?

What a great idea. How cool would it be to completely unplug Nov. 1 and come back Nov. 25 in time for Thanksgiving. No news. No inkling about what happened. That would be great.

BTW... I’m not predicting a Trump win. I have no idea what is going to happen. I just know where the polls have it within the margin of error (1-3 points)... I’d bet on Trump in those races.

Polls dont matter. Hillary was up by more 4 years ago and now shes suicidal lol. The media is even more biased now and the rust belt states are still closer now than 4 years ago. And 4.5 million white, working class voters sat out 4 years ago across PA, MI and WI and those go overwhelmingly for Trump. LA times had Crooked winning 352 electoral votes in 2016 and were way off. Every one of the predictions had her at least winning 322 electoral votes and biden has a much worse record than she did. Biden wouldn't be hitting up all the swing states if he were up by the margins the polls say. The Dems are shitting bricks.

The only poll that is accurate and matter is the one on November 3rd. Trump kicked butts in 2016 even though the poll said otherwise.

Hilary’s lead was within the margin of error. Biden’s lead is way past that. Biden is leading heavily in almost every category now. He’s even taken the lead on handling the economy. The Trump supporters that think Trump is going to win because of what happened to Hilary have another thing coming.

2016 polls in the end reflected Hilary's overall popular vote win pretty well. Trump's very narrow margin of victory was effectively decided by 107,000 people in three states (potentially with support from Russia?). Trump won the popular vote there by that combined amount. That amounts to 0.09 percent of all votes cast.
Current 538 forecast is 86/14 Biden v Trump but in reality it's probably going to come down to a few swings states again the probably the courts (which the right have been packing after approving nobody in the last two years of Obama's second term). There is already a lot of voter suppression and intimidation planned (Texas Gov's BS plan recently overturned in the courts), outside "shenanigan's" and potentially some fraud - although to date that's been rare.
Taking November off in the mountains sounds like a great idea and November could have some pretty significant civil unrest.

Batten down the hatches.

"I know you like to fancy yourself an independent and that you supposedly don't like Trump but just be real for a second and acknowledge your guy is getting WASHED. It's over."--UncleSpongeBob

Right on. That's what many radio hosts (like on KFI) do: They won't admit they're Republicans so they think they can sway people on the fence when they go after Democrats. They give themselves away because they NEVER praise them but ALWAYS find some contorted way of defending Trump & the Republicans.

Also, there's a poll which shows the national & purple states poll average & they have a side poll factoring in the % by which the polls were wrong about Trump losing in 2016. They STILL show Biden beating Trump next month.

The only difference is how much the Repug run states try to suppress the vote by limiting the polling places, drop off boxes & deadline for when the mail-in votes will be counted.

Knock on wood, but Biden needs a major faux pas to loose.

And Trump just keeps handing over more ammunition with mistakes showing him to hide behind other excuses rather than being a world leader.

Trump is loosing the elderly and the military votes in red states.

“ Exit polls four years ago found that Donald Trump won 65-plus voters by 4 percentage points. A September poll conducted for AARP Iowa showed Trump leading former Vice President Joe Biden among voters ages 50-64 by 22 points — 59 percent to 37 percent. However, the president trailed Biden 38 to 55 percent among 65-plus voters.“

The American voter is smarter than you think. Just because CNN and company slam the president every single day, day in and day out doesn’t mean anyone is buying there bullshit. Most of the country is aware of the bias and the media thinks if they report Biden ahead in the polls it will somehow make a difference....

If you look at enthusiasm, which was also the X factor in 2016 it’s obvious who is going to win.

^ +1 on the enthusiasm factor.

There couldn't be a starker contrast between the obvious enthusiasm,.. or lack there of, for these two candidates.

"I have read you drone on for 4-5 years about how you don't like Trump buuutttt he is the lesser of two evils and you literally have been nothing but negative no matter who the Dem was. Your arguments have always been Hillary was horrible, Biden is sleepy Joe and mentally unfit... You spew RW talking points that are not based in reality while always trying to both paint Trump as a victim lol and whoever he faces as some evil communist that's going to treat spray the fabric of our society because they want to guarantee us all health care lmao."

Good point UncleSpongeBob. Makes you think these people are Russian bots too. It's the same ole "I'm an independent (or I voted for Obama but...) & I hate the Dems, Hillary & Biden." Another way to try to sway people towards Trump. Not working. Dumbest guy to ever creep into the White House, dumbest re-election campaign ever.

Like one long time political pundit on PBS said Friday, when a candidate is down in the polls, they ask for MORE debates hoping to sway the public's mind. Trump turned down one because it was going to be virtual? DUMB! We know it's because he couldn't control moderators from cutting off his sound for going too long and/or interrupting Biden from telling the truth.

Just like Pence had to avoid answering several questions in his debate because to try would only make him & Trump's record look worse.

Hillary Clinton was leading +3 in the Presidential polls in 2016 and lost.

Biden is leading +11 in today's ABC News/Washington Post poll, rated A+ by fivethirtyeight.com.

I got your point, but you also said you don't blame trump either for the current political climate under Trump administration. If you believe that the blaming is not appropriate step to take, I would like to see if you could admit the failure brought by trump administration, such as this pandemic and economical downturn.

Lets go back to 2015-2016 when Brexit and America First slogans were rampant in both countries. Basic sentiment of both slogans were anti-globalism, as mildlyamusing1 and uncle Bob suggested already in other blogs. We can assume that Russians were orchestrating these propaganda in both countries, because after Ukrainian invasion and due to the the subsequent economical sanction, the only way for Russia to enjoy a taste of capitalism is to divide each country (US and UK or possibly other Western nations) to their own advantage. Trump knew what Russians were doing and he utilized this propaganda to his advantage for his presidential election. Only Putin and Trump gained what they wanted.

What Trump did was to divide US citizens(right and left, White and non-White), and separate USA from other countries under America First slogan, and his propaganda was enormously successful for bringing us another sentiment, which are isolationism, conflict, and hatred.

Trump said at 2019 UN General Assembly that "the future does not belong to globalists. The future belongs to patriots"

In other words, he attempted to convert every issue into domestic issue by dividing us, either you stand for me or against me, that is the choice he forced on US citizens. I personally believe that the most vulnerable part of this country is that US still suffers from scars from the civil war. Civil war is a purely domestic phenomenon. It can be said that you hate part of yourself, such as parents, siblings etc, and that what you hate is what you see in your mirror. That is self-hatred, self-conflict, and it only leads to self-destruction. The same rules apply to racism. If you hate other countrymen because of the difference in color, religion, it also can be said that it is another form of self-hatred.

The only talent I have to admit in Trump (I don't think he is a smart guy) is to bring chaos to otherwise civilized society, and bring divisiveness then conquer us in favor of his political gains. He is basically a con artist, and his repeated lies and gestures cause a spell on people's minds. Trump utilized and maximized our vulnerability (scars from the civil war) into his advantage so that he can control US politics, more or less in autocratic ways, and turned us back on all the international issues such as this pandemic and global warming. It can be said that all domestic issues in politics are just enlarged version of quarrels in your own families.

I firmly believe that US should show more responsible steps towards international communities, rather than generating unnecessary form of self-hared trapped in the US community, and that is only way to conquer self- hatred and self-conflicts and bring soundness into US politics.

Let's see what members of Lincoln Projects (deflectors from Republican party). I don't think Democrats and members of the Lincoln Projects have anything in common (at least at this point) other than its single objective to kick out Trump from US politics. This group (Super Pac) was formed in order to defeat Donald Trump for any means necessary.

Its consultant, Steve Schmidt called Trump administration as "the blatant racism, the crass sexism and the deranged narcissism And pandering to Nazis...¦this type of message is aimed at convincing Republican voters that Trump's dangerous and divisive impulses imperil the country.."

"For decades, conservatives attacked liberals for living by situational ethics, but the ease with which Republican leaders abandoned any pretense of being more than a whites-only party is the ultimate situational ethics"

Its project founder Jennifer Horn said "We have a president colluding, with foreign dictators...¦when Trump was impeached, (she) waited for Republican senators to uphold their constitutional oath, only to watch each one fall-except for Romney, who voted to convict. Senators who condemned trump privately said nothing publicly..You have an entire political class that is scared to death of being tweeted at or given a presidential nicknames"

The most surprising message for me was about Supreme court nominee.

"In a presidency marked by corruption, malfeasance, incompetence, and a profound disrespect for the American system of government and our Constitution, any nominee put force by Donald Trump, regardless of their resume or background, would forever bear the stain of a majoritarian, hyper-partisan choice made by a president and republican senate majority desperate to cling to power"

“National polls aren’t very important”

It depends. Pollsters say that if you’re the Dem and are up by 3 (like in 2016) you have about an even chance to win the electoral college, which was true in 2016 because Trump won by a very narrow margin. But if you’re a Dem and up by 11, it means there’s an excellent chance you’re going to win the electoral college too. And Biden is up by 11 today. And people are voting now.

Cry about it!

It's over. Biden will win easily. You can all stay home and not vote.

However here are some thoughts I copied from FB:

We have become a nation that has lost its collective mind!

• If a dude pretends to be a woman, you are required to pretend with him.

• Somehow it’s un-American for the census to count how many Americans are in America.

• Russians influencing our elections are bad, but illegals voting in our elections are good.

• It was cool for Joe Biden to "blackmail" the President of Ukraine, but it’s an impeachable offense if Donald Trump inquiries about it.

• Twenty is too young to drink a beer, but eighteen is old enough to vote.

• People who have never owned slaves should pay slavery reparations to people who have never been slaves.

• Inflammatory rhetoric is outrageous, but harassing people in restaurants is virtuous.

• People who have never been to college should pay the debts of college students who took out huge loans for their degrees.

• Immigrants with tuberculosis and polio are welcome, but you’d better be able to prove your dog is vaccinated.

• Irish doctors and German engineers who want to immigrate must go through a rigorous vetting process, but any illiterate gang-bangers who jump the southern fence are welcome.

• $5 billion for border security is too expensive, but $1.5 trillion for “free” health care is not.

• If you cheat to get into college you go to prison, but if you cheat to get into the country you go to college for free.

• People who say there is no such thing as gender are demanding a female President.

• We see other countries going Socialist and collapsing, but it seems like a great plan to us.

• Some people are held responsible for things that happened before they were born, and other people are not held responsible for what they are doing right now.

• Criminals are catch-and-released to hurt more people, but stopping them is bad because it's a violation of THEIR rights.

• And pointing out all this hypocrisy somehow makes us "racists"?!

Biden has no people going to his rallies in AZ and PA. Trump has all the enthusiasm out there. I dont buy that Biden is up by as much as the polls say. This time 4 yearsago Hillary was up by 12 or 13 nationally and up by 9-14 points in Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. With no enthusiasm and more reporters than votersathis rallies I doubt Biden's lead is that big. I wont believe until a winner is declared

Democrats have always been far smarter than the Republicans. They're protecting themselves from the frickin' virus. Look what happened to those who showed up for that stupid gathering at the White House to celebrate that conservative cunt who believes husbands should make decisions for wives. And others who attended Trump's rallies.

Oh & whatever happened to Herman Cain? Funny how Trump never talks about him. Such a good friend, huh? Died just to hear his King tell the crowd more lies.

Who's stupid enough to show up for rallies? Oh, right... Republicans.

The donations that keep pouring in to support the Democrats after every debate.. and the donations that DON'T pour in to Trump... gives you the big picture.

I keep saying this, but you Repugs should be placed on suicide watch.
