Almost got bit by a dog!

I was once bit by a dog. So naturally, I’m now fearful of one, should it come up and just start to bark, without the owner. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, a random chihuahua decided to visit me whilst I was having a cig and FREAKED ME OUT! I guess I didn’t need to scream so loudly that “A DOG is about to bite me HELP!” However, I did raise my voice quite significantly to ensure I’d be heard... oh yes! I did just that.

The owner emerges from across the entire parking lot capping the dogs name maybe twice with no true effort or sense of urgency, which to me should have been necessary but no. Grabs it up, with a puss on her face and just says “she ain’t gonna bite.”

I said, “I’ve been bit before” she just shakes her head all insulted and rude.

I mean, who does that?

The nerve. 😤

I know exactly just how you feel. That's why we have leash laws, but too many dog owners take undue advantage of people, by letting their animals run free.
I was sorry to read about her rudeness.

Hope you are enjoying your stay in California?

I used to read meters for SoCalEdison and I ran into a lot of dogs that wanted to bite but only a few managed to get me.

One time a little poodle (miniature) came running out to get me but he wasn't dumb enuff to just attack me head on. He continually circled me trying to get behind me to bite from the back.

So this lady came out yelling that he doesn't bite and I said fine cos I knew that if I didn't let him get behind me, he wouldn't really bite me. Butt she started yelling at me that I was causing his behavior because I wouldn't stand still. In her mind if I just stood still, he would calm down and be friendly, butt I knew better and I just kept turning to keep him in front of me. The lady got really pissed at me and kept yelling that "he doesn't bite!" So she bent down to pick him up and her boobs fell out - no, that's not what happened, wait a minute.., oh yeah, she bent down to pick her up and he bit her.

If you know dogs, you will know the biters and I don't know if this chihuahua was actually bite you, but you would certainly been in the right to take whatever actions you need to protect yourself.

Of course now that I'm that crazy old coot, when ever someone rings my bell and my dog runs out to see who's there and I keep telling people that he won't bite, but he actually WON'T bite

or so I claim

People think their own dogs are perfect. They really believe if their dog bites you, you have had it coming to you.

You will get little help and no sympathy from folks like that.

Unfortunate, but the way of the world.

Next time just kick the little fucker with your high heel shoes.

I warn my Lil puppies(daily, in cute doggy talk) if they ever bite one of us...they will be thrown thru my big TV on the wall...so far so good

my very first dog back in the 60's (retired police dog)...bit someone, after a year or so, that was teasing him with arm thru a gate. I was told he got sent to Vietnam

Careful with defending yourself against digs in California. An owner sued someone in my family for kicking a dog out of self defence. Fortunately the judge ruled in favor of my family...since the dog owner had been to court over another dog attack.
I love dogs but some people are real jerks. Kick the owner not the animal I say 😁

...also dang it you were in Cali? Oh man, snooze and loose. 😕

I felt the pain too. I was bitten on the hand after reaching
Out to a dog on a leash. Went to urgent care with proof of
Rabies from the owner so I didn’t have to get the shots.

Within two days I got sepsis from the bite and my right hand
Was twice the size as my left hand. I went to an appointment
With the dermatologist to look for skin cancer and he asked
Me if I was gonna wait until my hand exploded or if I wanted
To save it. He gave me a prescription for a full spectrum
Antibiotic and after three weeks both hands were the same
Size and the infection was gone.

Now I walk by a dog on the leash with both hands behind my back.

and Bougie - it's OKay to kick the big ones too

kicking the owner is another thing, butt when anything or anyone is attacking you, you should defend your self with every means you have and kicking a dog is just common sense and self defense

most dogs are cool, so don't kick them, butt when they attack what are you gonna do? Stand there and get bit? Being a victim is never OKay.

if a dog bites---
SUE the owner.

the people's court, Judge Milian,
tells dog owners:
was the dog pn a leash?
is the dog under YOUR absolute control,
1000% of the time?

just because the dog has NEVER bitten anyone,
is NO certainty the DOG WILL NOT BITE.

NO LEASH, take pictures, go to the ER, have diagnosis, prognosis, and follow all the treatment...
loss of earnings, pain and suffering, and NOW you are afraid of straying dogs. LOTTERY TICKET!

SMALL CLAIMS COURT. $5000 LIMIT.

a lot of cases in court,
are where a bigger dog bites a smaller dog.

the owner NEVER saw that behavior before!
my dog never bites!

a breed that has a reputation for biting?
pit bulls. a lot of them are put down after biting.
