Whats that commercial with the fly and jurrasic park guy? Isnt that an apartment search site?
And when rent control is initiated across the board in this State there will be even less places to rent......
You can thank Governor Newsom and his wonderfully tragic policies aimed at "Psuedo Rent Control" and " No Eviction Moratoriums". Which, of course .. will result in rent costs going UP every single year because Owners are now tied to this shit set of policies aimed at placating an ignorant electorate who doesnt actually READ the bill past the PR headline before deciding its good or bad.

Same Here My Lease is Up In January So Excited to Be Moving Back TO Los Angeles been in IE to long . Haven’t looked for any locations but will start November
Actually, the CDC is the entity that stopped evictions due to the covids.

People don't get monthly rent increases. Most places want at least a 6 month lease and most want a year. So your rent is stable for that length of time.

I have a feeling most people talking shit about renters got their homes from their parents or with money given/loaned to them to get one
California is just too damn cost prohibitive to do much with building new real estate properties. It explains why newer rental properties are considered to be luxury living apts since so much fun money was put into them and very few ppl can afford to live comfortably that way.
Then again older/crappier properties bring in ppl that probably take all sorts of short cuts to avoid legal or personal responsibilities
California sucks lol

My sense is that property owners are in a holding pattern until Congress comes out with CARES-2. Supposedly, Dems are pushing for a one-year eviction moratorium and property owners will receive in turn, indirectly, $50-60 billion via a rental assistance program. Considering that Trump and Pelosi are pretty close to a $2T deal and the Republican majority probably wont survive the election there might be a deal by mid-November. I expect the rental situation will then become a bit more rational. But, if Trump loses who knows what will happen.

@GE 2500-2800 for a one bedroom, lmao.
NO wonder why SOcal has so many homeless..
I remember 6 months ago i saw 2 dudes living in an old rv and had it parked in an industrial area.
they both had jobs and cars. lol
where I live I pay 1200.00 for a 2 bedroom and I live alone

@KML -
Landlords cannot evict and tenants are only responsible for 25% of rent until January, 2021 if the tenant is able to demonstrate that they cannot pay rent due to COVID-19. However, the rent accumulates and you have to pay off the accumulated amount over a one-year period beginning in January, 2021.
Some landlords are making it extremely difficult for the self-employed because it ain't so easy to prove you cannot work. I now this for a fact because I am paying a lot of rent these days.
Well VSS4, it is all geography. You pay $1200/month because not many people want to live where you do. Can't say I blame them.
man such arrogance you do not even know where I live @Quat.
Plenty of ppl here and lots more have come so yea!!!!!!!!!!!
If you’re a Californian we all know it’s not cheap to by here .
SO EVERYONE WHOS OUT OF TOWN MOVING HERE NEEDS TO STOP COMPLAINING ABOUT HOW EXPENSIVE IT IS TO BE HERE .
I’ve lived in California in LA my whole life so It’s nothing new that rent ain’t cheap & it gets raised by some landlords on a basis ...
IE has been the cheapest with rent and new amenities inside apartments .
LA is so over populated so there’s those who think it’s expensive and then those who
will think it’s Good enough

@GE have you thought about moving out of socal and cali
I did and have no regrets.
so basically what you are saying now @UncleSpongebob, you have to live in the valley now because Los Angeles sucks.
Before I left cali I lived in Encino and Agoura Hills and I still thought so cal sucked

Quat has obviously NOT been to Las Vegas and the surrounding areas lately.
He has probably not driven through Green Valley Ranch, Summerlin or Spring Valley.
No income tax, sales tax mostly below the Southern California area and the gambling and tourism revenues pretty much pay for running the state.
^^^
Buy a fucking paragraph break
it's really difficult try zilliow or Craigslist
@UncleSpongebob the tourism economy has been down but the real estate market here has been booming thou

OP did you find a place?? I am a bit worried about this 😐
The lack of vacancy must be due to ALL of the people leaving CA......right?! So is all of the traffic....it is tough out there, but all these false narratives piss me off. Anyone seen all of the out of state plates lately? For every ONE that leaves it seems we get FOUR arriving- making it tough to find a place.
