Maybe I don't have enough exposure to Republicans

Whenever I see somebody encouraging others to vote, the person is a Democrat.

Do Republicans ever encourage people to vote? Have you seen them do it anywhere?

Republicans assume that like all good citizens, they will vote.

Democrats have to beg their own to register, get off their lazy asses and go to the polls.

I encourage everyone who is eligible to vote to do so. I also encourage everyone to research who and what they are voting for. While not an extreme right wing conservative I will not vote for any Democrat this election.

It won't matter very much I know but the resolve of the left right now is to permanently silence anyone that doesn't support wholeheartedly the shortsightedness of the eco-hawks that would destroy the energy sector no compromises, silence reasonable discourse about intersectionality (a false religion that only separates and does not promote a harmonious society), and force us to make false choices about our core beliefs so that we don't "offend" others despite their predeliction for offending everyone that dissents.

You go ahead and vote for that... its you're right but spare me the idea that somehow I'm for suppressing the vote because you say go vote and fight everyday for 4 years because it didn't go your way. And I say go vote.and live with the results.

Vote!! Then STFU!!!

I think Republicans are more motivated than ever to get out and voted based on the past 4 years of incessant BS brought on by the left.

A LOT of people "held their nose and voted for Trump" in the 2016 election because they hated Hillary Clinton. Seems to be the way our country works these days for many. Vote for the person you hate the least. Sad really.

"Most Republicans support voter suppression."

Most democrats view voter qualification like citizenship, residency, and actually being alive as voter suppression.

@stephie beg to differ... Hillary was dismissive of the rust belt and felt that she didn't need to campaign there. Had she spent a fraction more time courting the vote in Wisconsin and Michigan and Ohio it would have been a much different race. Its not that so many hated Hillary its that not many were inclined to vote for her in those states.

@SexySteph - mostly agree with you. Clinton had extremely high unfavorable ratings. Call it hatred, her long history of being disingenuous, sexism, whatever, the "dislike" numbers were not good. Add to that the Comey letter and a poor campaign strategy and you have the ingredients for a failed campaign. Even if Clinton won Michigan and Wisconsin she still would have lost. Ohio was never part of the Democratic blue wall. Clinton campaigned like crazy in PA and lost the state. btw - the left constantly gets accused of Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS). One blog from Mr. Blue Elixir should be enough to convince anyone that OBS and HCS was at least as bad as TDS and still flourishing.

In 2016, most people in the USA knew nothing about Trump but what they heard on his BS 'reality' show, The Apprentice. They bought into the show's premise that Donald Trump was the successful businessman, and someone to emulate and learn from.

If they had lived near New York City in the 70s and 80s like I did, they would have known about his reputaion as a spoiled heir of a rich family, as an insane impulse buyer (the Plaza disaster), as a reckless investor who continually lost money (Atlantic City) but made it up with borrowing, his over-the-top asshole snobbishness, his company's multiple convictions for racial discrimination in rental housing, and his frequent racist rants in the New York City newspapers.

This time, the voters know Trump a little better. Of course, most people always vote for a particular party and it matters not who the candidate is, even if we pretend like it really matters. So Trump will probably get at least 47% of the popular vote even if he were to beat up Pope Francis in public the week before the election.

We'll see if he can do it again, and pull out another electoral college win with a minority of the vote, like he did last time.

Listening to anyone's opinion as to why 2016 panned out the way it did without acknowledgment that a country that clearly supported the Democrats under Obama rejected the Dems in that election; Total votes or electoral be damned, is ticking your head in the sand and not acknowledging that the Democrat Party has lost touch with their base.

This election will only be close because of last minute voting law manipulation hopefully in states that don't matter all that much but Pennsylvania is a prime example. Nevada another. Decreasing the signature match accuracy extending deadlines anything to disrupt the conclusion of the election and give lawyers a chance to pull shot out of their ass to challenge an already handicapped in their favor process.

Pope Francis needs a good beating
At least he did something right on the same sex marriage thingy

Have to agree with Quat on HRC's poor campaign and Seeker on Trump.
There's something very wrong with that guy.

Have to ask myself if I'd rather have a good doctor with a shitty bedside manner or a bad doctor who has a good bedside manner. Answering that question honestly, with respect to policy and not personality, leads me to Trump.

But I just can't vote for a guy I detest.
And, Biden's stated policy goals will kill the patient.

It's a Metzican standoff and we got no Metzicans

Definitely not enough exposure to Republicans. One key difference is all R’s I know are not only encouraging others to vote, but encouraging everyone to walk their ballot down to their polling place in person on election day.

BUT.... she was absolutely not the worst candidate amongst the Dems. Beto, Deblasio, Williamson, Steyer, Bloomberg....

Democrats literally state they will raise taxes and the crowd cheers. You cant get any dumber than that

Liberals "hes only raising taxes on those making over 400k"

Reality, prices of food, gas, rent, cars, sales tax all increase

Liberals "why did my rent go up?"

^ you think that would be enough. But then they pile on open borders, free health care for illegals, and letting criminals go with no bail... they scream for an encore.

I guess I was just wondering if it was a foregone conclusion that the Democrats' chance of winning increases as the number of voters increases. And that isn't to disparage the Republicans- more people voting doesn't necessarily lead to the BEST candidate being selected. But my perception has been that Democrats (not the politicians, but Democrat voters) spend a lot of time telling people to vote, without necessarily telling them who to vote for. They just tell people to get out and vote. I don't see many Republicans doing that, if any at all. Of course, my perception is also affected by Trump's opposition to any steps that make it easier for people to vote.

It is so easy to vote now. You can register on line.

You can pick up a registration form at any county election office, any DMV office and many post offices and public libraries.

Or you can even show up at one of the conditional voter registration locations for voting and fill out a registration card. You will be given a provisional ballot and the county registration office will mail you your voting status if confirmed.

If you cannot complete any of these things, I don't think I really want you voting on ballot measures that affect ME.

It's simple, there are more Democrats than Republicans.

However, the percentage of those that get off their butts and vote favor the Republicans.

With covid & mail in, it will be interesting.

If the 50% of voters who don't pay any taxes, likely most if not all Democrats, would get to the polls.......the Republicans would be swamped.

They'd never have a chance again.

It is pretty funny how some of you think there's a big difference between the 2 parties.
They've been the only 2 in power now for how many years but the deficit and debt go up every year and now we're in it to $23 Trillion, lol

We just hit parity on GDP to debt, so we're coming up on a pretty big speed bump.
Even with rates as low as they are, payments on debt and transfer payments will eat up 100% of any budget slapped together.

You can take 100% of all the billionaires AND millionaires money and still not make the payments.
They either have to come for everybody or just give it up.
And, Biden says he's only going after those with $400k income and above

Say hello to Venezuela baby, Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction.
At least at the end in Rome, they had bread and circuses
