Christ the voters here are retarded. Prop 15 is going to pass. They then have to move because their rent increases and they cant figure out why so they move to a red state and vote the same shit over again. Is it the public schools? Brainwashing? Why are CA voters so retarded

Isn’t the gas tax already in place for repairing roads? And more money does not equal greater education results. Get rid of tenure and see how fast teachers shape up.

"Well, that is exactly the point. Why should we vote to give the state more money when the money that we've already given them doesn't seem to be well-spent?"

Well, Prop 15 doesn't give money to roads, but it might not just be a problem of money being not well-spent. California has some of the lowest per capita direct expenditures on state and local highways.

Cali has one of the highest fuel taxes. Diesel is pretty much higher then any other State.

Somehow the tax money is not ending up on road maintenance.

Just like gun laws proposition 15 is chipping away at proposition 13.

The California government spends a lot of money coming up with these propositions to fuck the legal residents of the state

They did! I've got a lot of family in Arizona and they're really pissed at all the Californians moving in and bringing they're politics.
Same thing's going on in Texas and Nevada and is what happened in Colorado.
Californians flee the high taxes, rents and housing then vote the same way. Doesn't make any sense but there it is.

It's that called democracy that you true Americans claim to love but only claim it for wypipo. People can do whatever they want in this country and if they move to your state and bring their logic and reason with them so be it. Frankly if more Californians moved to other states it would improve those states tremendously.

Atticus....this is so true.

People get fed up with what is happening in their state, find out a state that is better and move.
But they take many of their political ideas with them and then make their new state just like where they departed....total insanity.

I’m more pissed that Gascon won.

Here’s a dude that as a District Attorney has never argued a case in court.

Doesn’t believe in prosecuting low level crimes.

Advocates for a 20 year MAX sentence for murder.

When he was DA in San Francisco his office was so fucked up he sent reps down to learn how they did it in LA.

Was instrumental in turning San Francisco into the shithole it’s become.

Moved here solely for the purpose of running for office.

Was so bad the Mayor of San Francisco openly slammed him for being the political hack he is.

SMH. Just like LA County. Get the nod from the right party and you can unseat a qualified person doing the job no matter how fucked up you are.

I hope everyone who voted for him understands the connection when the homeless problem explodes more, the crime rate explodes more, and living here becomes even more difficult.

But they probably won’t.

Prop 13 is old people stealing money from young people, families.
It's evil and not sure how it's legal.

Property taxes pay for things like police, fire, schools. These things get more expensive over time so taxes go up.

No wait with prop 13 the old couple doesn't pay their share. They want the new couple next door to pay for both houses. Young couple pays their share plus extra to cover Prop13 deadbeats next door

There should be list so if a new home owner calls 911 they come out .
If someone been in their home a few years, not paying full share due to prop13, maybe cops make a note and wander by after lunch. Fire department may not fit you in today...

Basically if you can't afford to live in your home and hood (incl current taxes) move!

Prop 13 also forces older people to live in large homes rather than put them on market so forces home buyers to pay inflated prices.

Prop 13 is just people demanding handouts from government and stealing from neighbors.

Prop 13 is old people stealing money from young people, families.

NO it is the only way to keep the tax hunger bastards in Sacramento from running even more people out of state that cannot afford all of the levels of taxation in this state. The old people do die or sell the property when then move into retirement or assisted living facilities and it gets reassessed then.

The fucking vultures can wait....

here is the typical scenario

they buy a home many years ago for 100k...they pay it off and maybe it's worth 500k

so you want someone getting 2000 a month/24k per year to now pay 5k?

most will end up in a nursing home or assisted living and the money from the home will pay for it...if we are lucky...or WE will pay for it.
