Pretty hard to respect the office if the man holding it had no respect for it.
Nope... respect is always a choice.
We are in trouble if we let others determine what we do and how we respond.
Trump beat Hilary fair and square.
Before he ever set foot in office many on the left shouted, “Not my president.”
Like it or not he was. And treating him less than the just helped to diminish “the office.”
It has to be bigger than the person sitting in the chair.
I respect the office and responsibility that comes with it, but the occupant doesn’t get a free ride. I gave him the benefit of the doubt when he first got in. I was one of many who were hopeful that once he actually got in the office he would change his ways. Alas it got even worse.
He won fair and square in 2016, as disappointing as it was.
By the way, your idealism makes me want to hug you even tighter.
The occupant doesn’t get a free ride... ever. Never has. But there should be limits to the type and tone of criticism.
I thought Clinton endured more than he should have had to...
Bush got it worse than Clinton. Obama got it way worse than Bush. I really thought it couldn’t get worse than the lack of respect Obama had to endure... but then Trump.
He got it 5x worse than Obama.
I can’t imagine we ever reach previous levels of decorum... but I can hope.
BTW... I think President -Elect Biden is setting the right tone. I hope it can last... but it will be hard.
I’m gonna walk away now cuz you somehow compared Obama and Trump as equals in the reaction they inspire.
Besides I am on my cricket wireless phone, so hard to type more.
No... I’m not comparing the people. I’m comparing the treatment they received.
The problem is people feel justified in being an asshole when dealing with an asshole.
Obama has always been bigger than that. He never stooped to Trump’s level... no matter how ugly Trump was towards him.
Too bad Trump never learned that lesson.
I still love you then.
I never doubted your love.
FloppyNutSack and KaiserSoce for the love of Mike get a room. Please..
Please keep it a secret what ever happens in that room?

Not a big Biden fan but he and Harris gave excellent and moving, unifying victory speeches. After listening to his speech hard to call him senile or disparage him.
Not my president but I will not burn a flag.
"Obama never mocked or disparaged Trump? Never disparaged the voters? Never lied? That's not what I remember."
I honestly think it's time for people to stop scoring how many boo-boos one side has given the other. It's a battle which we will all come out losing because it will never end, and we will end up more divided than ever.
Well... I am a Republican... and even though I don’t agree with Joe on a number of issues...
Come January 20, 2021... Joe Biden will be my President.
Fuck Joe biden. He will fail whether we support him or not. And their speeches tonight were the same speeches politicians have been giving forever. Same shit. Nothing original. Just go on Tariq Nasheed Twitter page and see what's up

Think about this:
Bush won without the popular vote in 2000; but shortly after being elected, 9/11 happened. Bush united the country and his approval rating went up. Granted, it didn’t stay there, but he did win a second term. Trump had the same — or even better — “opportunity”. COVID-19 hit, and he could have won some points if he had “united the country” in fighting it. And with it being so close to the next election, he could have rode it to being re-elected, given how close the vote happened to be. Talk about irony: had he taken the advise of his COVID-19 task force and Dr Fauci -- which is what Biden and his followers wish he had done -- he would/could have beaten Biden and would be looking at another 4 years.
Is it the hallmark of all Trump supporters that they cannot write a grammatically correct sentence or communicate a coherent thought?
Oops, shame on me. We're trying to unite people in this blog, right?
Wow, reasonable thinking from KS. I applaud you. This is the correct approach. Agree or not the country gas spoken. Unless you can provide actual evidence or some type of voter fraud gtfo. I cant remember an election with such poor choices.
Must be miserable to be FIRED by the country and forced to stay put at your desk, and or the golf course, till you're allowed to leave on 1/20. Can ya imagine being dumped by Marshall's and being told to "Get your ass back there in housewares and load those shelves till next year!"
You dug your own hole dude, bring your bag of nonsense back to the table like Grover Cleveland for a second train wreck in 2024! That is, if you survive the multiple lawsuits in process! Good luck bruh!
I am hoping that by the centrist actions of Biden -- working with Republicans -- that he will pick away at some of those Republican doubters in time, unless those extreme forces on the left and on the right don't allow that to happen.
Right now we need to unify the country to get people to take the oncoming blitz of coronavirus seriously. We need cooperation from everyone to reduce cases so we don't end up with lockdowns again. That includes more people wearing masks and social distancing and building up production of a paper test (the technology exists) that could keep the spread from becoming exponential. And leadership could be a factor in getting people to buy in.
I hope it's not too late.

"Do you think I posted that for no reason at all? Or was it a response to someone else keeping score?
Please don't try to tell others about how it's time to be even-handed if you aren't going to do the same. And for the record, you only quoted me, not the other guy."
You're still recording boo-boos aren't you?
@Granite. I'm sorry if it seemed like I singled you out. That wasn't my intent.
Fuck unity. Divide and conquer
Granite... I wasn’t saying Obama never said a negative word about President Trump or never used sarcasm when referring to a the President made.
My point was, President was petty and his supporters and the news media enjoyed and encouraged his pettiness. He engaged anyone and everyone that had a negative thing to say. It didn’t serve him... or us well. He constantly swung at pitches in the dirt.
The President has to be bigger than that.

As a Brit', we usually look to Churchill for inspiration in times such as these This one seems apt today, “You can always count on the Americans to do the right thing, after they have exhausted all the other possibilities.”
The pro democracy Western states are certainly letting out a sign of relief today and looking forward to the US rejoining them to help solve the big global issues rather being a posterchild for the follies of popularism and a defender of authoritarians.

"For those of you holding out hope Trump will make a courtroom come back.... it’s time to accept the loss and recognize in January we will have a new President"
You said it and I agree.
So just bend over and watch taxes being raise, jobs outsourced, economy crash, releasing violent criminals while defunding the police and taking away our right to self defense? Yea i doubt it
Also how did america decide? There is massive evidence of voter fraud. Ive asked several liberals and all i get are deflections and name calling but someone explain to me how in a county that has 500k voters how did they count over 800k ballots? Someone explain that to me. Oh and how did biden severely underperform in democratic strong holds like NY, VA, MN and NV but somehow jumped huge points in all of the battleground states? That defies logic
You fucking idiots!
No reason at all, I just like calling all of you fucking idiots
Seriously, you fucking idiots.
While the storm has passed, have none of you learned your lesson?
Trump got elected because half the country perceived they were getting a shit sandwich from the other half.
We can't afford to go back to business as usual where politicians pick out a class of people or type or color or whatever....Then proceed to fuck them over while you cheer them on.
Next time, the antidote to your derisive attitude might be worse than Trump....if thats possible.
Be more inclusive you intolerant fucks
“There is massive evidence of voter fraud.”
I am open to that... but to this point I have heard accusations... but no evidence of “massive” voter fraud.
You are talking about sneaking in hundreds of thousands of ballots to multiple locations. You can’t hack the computers because there have to be matching paper ballot back-ups. It’s just a very big lift... that I can’t see anyone pulling off quietly... or successfully.
But... if there is evidence ... I’m open.
Not a fan of these masses of people celebrating Biden's win. This will just increase transmission of COVID-19. I wish more epidemiologists would speak out against this like they did of Trump's rallies.
Again, 800k ballots in a county of only 500k registered voters, nearly double. 14k dead people voted in NV and that was only in a few counties audit. Whistleblower from usps stating they were told to back date ballots that arroved after the deadline. Counters telling observers they were done but then counting in secret, officials refusing to allow republican observers inside despite a court order. PA officials refusing to abide by a SC order to seperate votes coming in after 8pm. A "glitch" in the software giving trump a 12k swing in 1 county. That same software is used in multiple counties in 30 different states and who part owner is Boxers husband. When the pollsters in PA were supposed to be on a break 3 cars brought in boxes full of ballots. Live TV showed an official at a garbage can opening ballots and chucking ones he didnt like who they voted for.
This is just the tip

Balls. How was trump intolerant? More women and minorities appointed to high level positions than any ither president. 500b to black communities, 100m to hispanic communities, first pro LGBT president. Arrested more human traffickers and recovered more children than any other president
"How was trump intolerant?"
Just a few examples:
"Son-of-a-bitch" NFL players who wanted to take a knee?
"Why do we want all these people from 'shithole countries' coming here?"
"Why don’t they go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came [even when they didn't come from another place]?"
Maybe Trump's intolerance is more a function of what he says than what he does.
He never called anyone a SOB he said an NFL owner should say get that SOB off the field hes fired.
They do come from shit hole countries. He was also referring to those that come here illegally.
Wanting people to stand up for their country isnt intolerant.
No he did not ban trans from the military. He banned trans service members from having tax payer funded transition surgery. Which is nothing the tax payers should pay for
Is that all you got? Wanting people to come here legally and to respect the flag? Shame
"They do come from shit hole countries. He was also referring to those that come here illegally.
Wanting people to stand up for their country isnt intolerant."
Calling largely people of color's countries "shithole countries" shows at the very least a lack of empathy, and he was referring to LEGAL immigration.
Telling people of color to go back to their country when they were born here is racist.
