Romney lost in 2012 and Obama got 332 electoral votes.

Trump lost to Biden and Biden only got 306 votes with the entire main stream media, all the Tech giants, many large corporations against him, including censoring conservative comments.

Actually...according to Trump, 306 is a landslide win and grants a mandate to do whatever you want because the people have spoken. Also, this election was the main reason they chose not to impeach him. The argument was...It was an election year and the people should have the chance to decide and not a bunch of partisan politicians. Well the people decided...and that didnt stop them from hypocritically continuing to deny Biden and hypocritically confirm another Supreme at the last second in record time.

You are correct, I should have phrased that better. I was thinking that a Michael Dukakis type of landslide would have been devastating to the collective Trump ego. This closer defeat allowed the door to be open to the false cheating narrative that he'll use to slink away and continue to be a voice.

I have no worries once Trump is gone. Did he create a movement? Oh yes, but they will be moving to Parler, stay in the talk shows, youtube conspiracy channels that nobody else cares about during any prior presidency.

Do I care Senate blocking Biden or not enough votes in the House? I don't care as long as no clown comes up every day lying into my face, blackmailing allies, praising dictators, and endorsing murders.
Trump won the 2016 primary because the others are unwinnable. Do I worry about him or someone like him wins again? Somebody capable will not do what he does, openly racist, lie, bully, go into the history book as he does. Somebody who behaves like that could not have risen through the ranks of elected officials.
He made history but it's like a one-hit-wonder. Will you vote for someone who may not leave office peacefully? That's the end of democracy. Are you willing to pay fewer taxes, risking a dummy who isn't capable to manage any crisis and most likely will start a few on his own? Why cry about socialist, communist, when he is a 100% dictator, 100% racist? Trying to suppress the free press, using the DOJ to attack his critics, is this a start of a dictatorship that we may not recover from
I think the world wakes up from the nightmare of populist. They are always there but not in the developed free world. How many regrets the Brexit, when the troubles are just started and will be with them for years long after Trump's 4 short years. Boris Johnson is now trying to be the number one in Green technology with heavy investment. Why? He could have done a lot better with the EU. As if Duterte didn't shoot enough people, he ordered to shoot people who violate the COVID lockdown!
It took a pandemic to take down Trump. I'm not so sure. He could have energized all the anti-maskers, anti-lockdowners voting for him. Given that we are already deeply screwed, let him sell the family treasures (like free for all drilling) for cheap is a desperate way hoping to survive for longer. And 4 more years of paying less tax makes a lot of difference for some people, assuming that Trump cannot get any worse, it's not likely to have another crisis back to back, and that we can recover from Trump returning to normal after his term ends.
On the other hand, even if you believe in economic development no matter how unsustainable, a president is more than that. You need someone who knows how to manage a crisis and how to trust the right people. I don't know how you can bash the "experts" all the time. I won't trust my car to be fixed by anybody without a good qualification, good recommendations or good reviews.

It's pretty simple, Trump starting looking carefully at the stock market, saw the large "Biden" bump and said it is time to go.
btw- G.W. Bush did much better with latino voters that Trump ever did. Trump may have increased the share of black voters but when you are going from 8-11% that still sucks. Yeah, it is almost a 40% increase but when you start at an absurdly low level any increase looks significant. McConnell had it exactly correct - Trump drove off substantial numbers of suburban voters. The Republican party cannot survive without wining he suburban vote.
