Everyone seems to be talking about green bean casserole lately.
It’s like the new, cool, hip, side dish.

I like green bean casserole but its played out to me I like to do different dishes each year to keep it spruced up  And curb-side hmm lol PM me maybe we can work out something.

Allison -- what a wonderful post! Was trying to figure out what to say that wouldn't get troll-bombed and you nailed it!
Here: Turkey (William's-Sonoma brined), mash, sweet potato mash, green beans, stuffing, gravy, pretty standard, and I made a pecan pie (half the sugar) from scratch. Small group, but should be sweet.

Riced mashed potatoes
Green bean casserole
Spicy sausage stuffing
Walnut and maple sweet potatoes with marshmallows
Buttered peas and corn
Gravy
Homemade cranberry "sauce"
Baked rolls and butter
A pinot noir and a cabernet...or a different pinot...sparkling water...and Martinellis....and maybe a bottle of Cristal to start.
I feel the food coma coming on now!!

Maybe start with a beer, a light pinot noir, a medium chianti, some spaghetti bolognese, a cognac & bed.

This the first year I’m not cooking. I’m making 2 side dishes for the family to enjoy while I’m at work.
Greens and potato salad!

roasted wild turkey with stuffing (Hello 3 hours of sitting next to a fire basting a turkey)
cranberry sauce from the can (that person has to extract it himself...although I gottta admit I like it too)
home made cranberry sauce with orange peel and blueberry
butternut squash pie with old school pie crust (take that you annoying store bough crusty garbage)
mixed green salad with candied walnuts and dried cranberries (greens from ye olde garden)
turkey gravy (duh)
Mashed potatoes (russet and fingerling mix)
fresh baked bread (You know, I've flayed and ground wheat...nope, store bought flour is way better)
NO GREENBEANZ (sorry, I won't lie I am not a fan of the past 12 iterations of green bean casserole)
Roasted broccoli
I'm missing something I know I am but the list is on the fridge...and dammit, one should not travel around drunk.

A grilled cheese sandwich and enough booze to kill a small horse.

Smoking a turkey in my Big Green Egg, mashed potatoes, giblet gravy, cornbread stuffing and fresh green beans lightly sauteed with garlic and olive oil. Picked up a couple of nice Pinot Noirs in Napa a few weeks ago that I will be opening up for this.

I have no idea what they're preparing but in about an hour I'm driving to Hawthorne to pick up a friend turkey. I've never had fried turkey before.

Turkey breast with mashed potatoes and a lot of greens ,
Since we are just 2 here is to much good for me but I will use the turkey breast the entire week !

Mmmmmm....I love using leftover Honeybaked ham, with eggs, for breakfast. And leftover turkey and dressing sammiches for lunch. Thanksgiving is the gift that keeps on giving.

I saw on morning news that one of reporters shoves a beer can in the turkeys ass while cooking.
Guess you can get a buzz while eating that way.
