No vaccine for me. I’m not an anti-vaxxer. I’m just not confident in the timeline.

A health insurance rep told me that 80% of people over 65 are on
some type of prescription medication. I told her I was not on
any type of prescription medication and that I take care of my
health by eating natural foods, try to stay away from processed
foods that have little nutritional value and take food supplements
to boost my immune system.
I used to exercise regularly but these govt restrictions have
made me lazy and I don't exercise as much a before.
I don't take the flu shot or all the other shots that are offered
to seniors.
I haven't been seriously ill since, I changed my eating habits
about 5 years ago. Any flu or cold symptom are very mild
and it clears up within 24-72 hours.
So I don't plan on taking the vaccine.
An RN friend of mind told me that one of the main reasons
older people end up in the hospital is due to the side effects
of long term use of prescription drugs. She would never
say this publicly because she said she would be fired and
never able to work again.
I believe many of you already know that many doctors are just drug pushers.

I would hold my family off from taking it...would consider taking it myself, being in that high-risk category, but maybe holding out to get lucky before year ends

Nope, won't be taking it regardless of what hasselhoff or what the who says - the same guys that sold their soul to china.
It was rushed: 9 months of development as opposed to the minimum 120 months - no one knows what the long term effects will be, that's why it takes a minimum of 9 years for a new vaccine to come up for regulatory review and approval, to attempt to minimize all the side effects.
They can't even answer the simplest question like - How long will the vaccine be effective for?
Put it all together and it's a bad patch job.
We need a vaccine but this was a rush job done in a panic situation. Those never end well.
Top it off I've heard rumblings of a democrat backed bill making it's way through congress to prevent people from suing for 'vaccine related injuries'.
That inspires a lot of confidence.

Problem is it won't end up working to end the pandemic if enough people don't take it, making it a self-fulfilling prophecy.
I'm hoping the views expressed here end up being in the small minority over time.

Well the UK is telling people that have a history of 'significant allergic reactions' not to take phizer's vaccine ... for awhile. 2 people had reactions to the vaccine on the first day of it being used.
Not sure what their definition of 'significant allergic reactions' is though and they don't say. But it's almost a worthless warning without specifying what it means.

Not sure of the impact of blacks being underrepresented. With older folk, you are going to be worried about the vaccine being as effective with their weaker immune systems. You would like to see if a normal dose of vaccine is effective enough or if a higher dose would be more efficacious, as it is with the flu vaccine.

^ Absolutely. Different races react differently to medication. Same thing goes for how women react as opposed to men. This is what happens when you rush things and drop safety protocols for speed ... and a HUGE paycheck.
It's one of the several reasons I'm not taking it - it may work great on people of european decent but on other races, maybe not so much.

@KaiserSoce. Just a follow-up on the Pfizer vaccine in the elderly. The data suggest that efficacy is the same for all age groups. (See chart).

^Although the confidence interval of the efficacy for >= 75 years old shows that the sample size is too small for this age group.
