Macadamia nuts
Hard shell black walnuts: About 35 years ago when I lived in Los Angeles there was a huge hard shell black walnut tree in the neighbors back yard and a lot of them fell in my yard. I could fill a five gallon bucket.
There is a small hard shell black walnut tree in a store parking lot in the City Of Industry. About 20 years ago I asked the manager could I pick up the nuts, he said OK but that was a long time ago so now I stop by on Sunday when they're closed.

Best mac nuts I ever had were from the Big Island. Fresh off the tree, they were so good!

The hard shell black walnuts has a good shelf life. I've cracked and ate nuts over a year old and they still tasted great.
