I think Newsom is doing well with the very difficult coronavirus pandemic. I think he allowed counties to open up too quickly and early back in May and has learned from that mistake. He is for policies that are not popular right now, but is holding his ground because transmission of the virus is skyrocketing, and unfortunately we don’t have more in the arsenal except for social distancing, mask wearing, and closures. It would have been much better if we had mass produced cheap, fast, paper antigen testing people could have done in their homes in 15 minutes. If we had millions of these done per day, and people quarantined when they tested positive, we wouldn’t need these closures to be able to control transmission of the virus. It is a tragedy we don’t have this, and I blame leadership at the federal level. I also blame federal leadership for not having enough stimulus to help small businesses.
