So very true. The thing really I hate about all those homes in Irvine is that there is no freakin' elbow room. No space in between each residence and all so cooped up together.
Yup. All the same color for every place. Pretty lame, and no front yards as well.
I agree!!!!!!!!!! The bad thing is that you could go on a drinking binge for a weekend, be drunk beyond all belief and pull into the driveway of the wrong house. The good thing is that your key would fit the front door and once inside, you would already know where everything is. Irvine is a beautiful town of sameness. What flavor of vanilla would you like today?

Depends on the neighborhood.
I’m shopping for a new place and found some gems in Irvine that have actual backyards.
Its the Mediterranean look.
Interesting. That's a trip. A backyard?!?!? WOW!
...and many home owners associations too! To hell with HOA's.
Not just Irvine. Many places too. RSM. Las Vegas. Santa Clarita have places that all look the same.
Irvine also has no character either as well.
Also Mello roos to pay for the schools and parks for the Chinese breeders.
Very true!^^^

Welcome to the new world of maximum density housing.
Urban planning to the nth degree of mediocrity and uniformity.
I fucking hate it! lol can you tell?
Interestingly, I have a good friend who's an architect and her firm has been hired to help design similar communities in China. For some reason the middle class out there thinks it's the greatest thing.

Irvine is known far and wide in China
Bren is richer than all HX members combined
So, if he's reading this blog
He's laughing his ass off at Flappy right now
Cause he DGAF

Little boxes on the hillside
Little boxes made of ticky tacky
Little boxes on the hillside
Little boxes all the same
There's a pink one and a green one
And a blue one and a yellow one
And they're all made out of ticky tacky
And they all look just the same
And the people in the houses
All went to the university
Where they were put in boxes
And they came out all the same
And there's doctors and lawyers
And business executives
And they're all made out of ticky tacky
And they all look just the same
And they all play on the golf course
And drink their martinis dry
And they all have pretty children
And the children go to school
And the children go to summer camp
And then to the university
Where they are put in boxes
And they come out all the same
And the boys go into business
And marry and raise a family
In boxes made of ticky tacky
And they all look just the same
There's a pink one and a green one
And a blue one and a yellow one
And they're all made out of ticky tacky
And they all look just the same

Oh hell no, I don't live in Irvine. But I'm a complainer.
Good Lord dude, everything is through a political prism to you?
Since when are scones NOT political?
We ARE totally gay.
...and boring too as well. Like I said earlier... No character at all in Irvine.

As an Irvine resident I agree with most of this blog. That being said, it certainly has its attractions for many, but it’s not for all. In Irvine things are clean, crime is low (2 cop cars show up if you get pulled over for speed8ng), schools are top notch (public is like private schools in other areas- thank the Asians), there are lots of parks and city activities (pre-COVID), it’s fairly diverse, and we don’t know what homeless people look like.
At the end of the day I’ll give up a front and backyard and take a cookie cutter house over living in upscale parts of LA where homeless people are sleeping in front of your house and crime is high.
^there’s too many other cities with backyards, pools and everything else you mentioned to get stuck in blah-land..
For over 10 yrs I’ve covered a sales territory from Malibu to San Diego and I’m in the field every day. I have not found this magical city you speak of.
Irvine probably kicks the homeless out too I'm assuming?!?! Hmmm.🤔
You gotta go a little further up than Malibu
I say.... Fuck Irvine!!!🤣🤣
Apparently, none of you have been in Shady Canyon, the poor man's Newport Coast.
Big houses, big yards, homeless are used for target practice when they run out of those little clay pigeons, decent golf course......and, some strange fucking people who just happen to have money.
God bless Shady Canyon.
And you can drop off your toxic waste there, too.
Maybe you're thinking about the old dump off Bonita Canyon, up in Coyote Canyon
Closed 30 years ago
But, sure...you can still take a dump up there, they love that kinda thing
Shady is further northeast
Hey though, you're Billinirvine, so what do I know about it?
Dont think john couger was thinking of Irvine when he wrote Pink Houses
Irvine is a very successful concept so obviously many people love that lifestyle.
But I also want architectural variety, walkability, small businesses (rather than chains) too.
I’m willing to put up with the occasional homeless woman sexually assaulting me now and then.

I think I know 75% of the gate codes in Irvine and Tustin, does that count for anything??
I almost want to go there to test these gate code theory but dont really care
A good part of the newer sections of the OC are this way as well. Home and Townhouse prices are high as well.
What position? Missionary?
What Gbannana said.
Plus, people are willing to pay out of their left nut sack there for those reasons.
Irvine demo. 49 % white
48 % asian
