I've always been big on sectors : Pharma / Health Care, Tech, Transportation and Coca-Cola
I absolutely love Pfizer, J&J, GSK, Microsoft, Verizon, FedEx, and of course Coca-Cola to name a few...
If you don't have time nor the interest to watch individual stocks, I highly suggest that you get into
T Rowe Price sector funds : Health Sciences and Communications & Technology...

The richest one percent of this country owns half our country's wealth, five trillion dollars.
One third of that comes from hard work, two thirds comes from inheritance, interest on interest accumulating to widows and idiot sons and what I do, stock and real estate speculation.
It's bullshit.
You got ninety percent of the American public out there with little or no net worth.
I create nothing. I own.

I had some capitol to invest back in the Spring when everything but Clorox was trending down; picked up Apple, Disney, Boeing, American Airlines, GM, and a few others. I figured these USA major companies were not going to be down for good. Here in December, the average of my Spring investments are up an average of 42% (I got most at or about their bottom) with the only loser being Clorox. (go figure)

they're not stocks but bitcoin and etherium were pretty profitable for me this year. i'm hoping they will do well in 2021 too
i may also add some mining, energy and emerging markets investments

|
Woody.....How do you buy Bitcoin? The stock is too much $
|
|
Kicking myself for selling solar/renewable stocks too early as they have exploded, thankfully
I was able to buy back in at decent prices.
I've been traded them for a few years b/c volatility makes an easy swing trade, but
looks like they may be headed for sustained gains in the near future though.

I’m looking for a good Solar Stock. I was in Sunrun but I got out and it won’t dip for me to get back in.

Anyone paying attention to Bitcoin?
Fuck, almost worth $30,000 and that’s on a Sunday.
|
|
@ BenDecco714 you're right, with bitcoin approaching $30,000 it's not cheap to buy a full unit. but you don't have to. you can buy fractions of a bitcoin, like $1,000 of it for .033 bitcoin. those kinds of purchases could be made on a crypto exchange
but there are easier ways to do it if you're more familiar or comfortable with buying stocks. the following trade over-the-counter like stocks:
GBTC - holds only bitcoin. 2% annual fee, currently trading at a 24% premium to the value of bitcoin backing each share
ETHE - holds only etherium. 2.5% annual fee, currently trading at 125% premium to the value of etherium
GDLC - holds 5 different cryptos (btc, eth, xrp, bch, ltc). 2.5% annual fee, currently trading at 29% premium
BITW - typically holds 10 different cryptos. 2.5% annual fee, currently trading at 160% premium
all four are interesting (but somewhat complicated - you'd want to look into them carefully before considering a purchase). personally, however, i wouldn't buy ETHE or BITW right now because of those high premiums
there are some other similar funds but the four listed above may be the best choices available to regular US investors right now
|
|
forgot to mention - the crypto funds are incredibly volatile, much more than the underlying cryptos. that because as the underlying currency rises the premium may soar as well. and when the currency hits an air pocket the premium can get crushed too
and cryptocurrencies themselves have gone thru crazy cycles. like up 500+%, followed by an 85% drop
so not for the faint hearted
|
|
I went in lightly on GBTC & ETHE to hedge against the dollar
Caught the split on ETHE...we'll see were it goes
bendecco,
I'm not sure if renewables will drop significantly during the Biden years
check out SPWR & MAXN (MAXN is a manufacturing spinoff of spwr)
both are at a decent price and have a lot of upside b/c they are global unlike RUN
if you're looking for a swing trade check out DQ
they just split and regularly jump/drop 10-12%
easy money
|
|
have you checked renewable energy stocks today????
yeeeeeeeee

Bought more Ford today. They have a terrific lineup of new vehicles.
Long wait times for Bronco and F/150. Getting retail and more for every one.
Jim Cramer says Ford is on fire - in a good way.

Bought F on 3/2020 for $5 and it's at $8.84 and Bud at $42 which is now at $71. Lots of beer drinking during Covid and F is on fire.

NLST...check it out if you like to gamble
