Why does it have to be someone's fault at all?
They could be on certain medicines for another condition that -- in combination with genes -- makes it very easy to gain weight. Variations in genes plus meds or diet can affect the hypothalamus in such a way that makes the person hungry all the time, and they become obese.
It's too simplistic to say it's an issue of will.

Dr. Scott Jenson, M.D.). Viral particles are ~.1 micron in size. BACTERIA ranges from .5 to 5 microns in size. Mask-wearers are NOT distinguishing VIRAL particles from BACTERIA. Surgical masks are to prevent spit & mucous (bacteria) from entering wounds, but are NOT used to prevent airborne viral particles, which are too small to be seen, & too small to be filtered by N-95 masks on down. Mask-wearers don't seem to realize they CANNOT SEE viral particles entering masks.
According to Dr. Denis Rancourt, PhD, on June 11, 2020, "No RCT study w verified outcome shows a benefit for HCW or community members in households to wearing a mask or respirator. There is no such study. There are no exceptions."

Not. We're going to end up having 500,000 dead by the end of this because you can't successfully do that if you allow transmission of the virus to be high. Time and time again the data show that new cases from younger folk make their way to older, more vulnerable folk.
We have 300,000 dead, and only about 20% of the population has been infected. If we aim for herd immunity without a vaccine, we'll have more than 1 million dead easily.
