You strike me as a jambalaya guy.

My favorite part was when they estimated it would cost $10 for every $6 they collect to staff it and track it.
Now it is definitely sounding like a Dem project. Think about how many more family members the leaders of our great state can employ. At the top positions of course. Would not want them to get carpal tunnel from all the computer work necessary to track all these people.

First time it gets challenged in court it'll be struck down. The only way a state can tax anyone that doesn't live in that state is if they work/ed in that state or get income from owning rental property or doing a business venture in the state.
At least I would hope a court would rule against the state, never know now a days. Seems like common sense isn't in great supply any where anymore.

Sounds kinda like the jock tax, where sports players are taxed in whatever state the game is on.

I do not believe that it will be enforceable if it ever actually passed.
But, the fact someone came up with it, and published some estimates, estimates that just don't make sense, is, well, just plain stupid.
And just read that is takes into account "world wide net worth". Hahahahaha.
Who gets to do the legwork on that? Oh, yes, it costs $10 for every $6 collected. Now it makes sense. Hahaha.

They have no regard for the principle against "taxation without representation."

CA dems will not be happy until all the cities are burned down and lawless and they drive everyone out of the state except homeless illegal aliens and/or government "workers." These people are ruining what's left of what was a perfectly good state.

"First time it gets challenged in court it'll be struck down."
I'm sure it will, as if should be, however those peddling it don't care. It's all about virtue-signaling and confirming their PC woke credentials for all to see, nothing more.

Well, there's at least one guy posting that has his head firmly embedded in his ass.
You'd have to be the dumbest of dumb fucks to think this is constitutional.
What a waste of time by our esteemed pols in Sacramento

Fuck okra
Might as well be eating your own dingleberries

You guys should think again about enforceability. Most states have been gradually expanding their abilities to tax residents and partial residents.
Remember that a constitutional challenge of a CA law would go to a California court.
Folks on the go have been facing the dual taxation problems for decades already: https://www.bakertilly.com/insights/dual-state-residency-can-result-in-dual-taxation/.

Remember when USA stood up to fascist, like Hitler and Mussolini instead of voting for one that loses again , this time by 5 million instead of 3Million? And remember when it was just flunky gubmints' in latin america who tried to claim the won when they lost? So called banana republics? Or that if you lose one day its a banana republic run by n***s , but if you win the next day its model of democracy held high for the world to see run by proud boys? And one day the opposition is idiots , the next clever fellows rigging all elections...except the ones they lost on the same ballots. USE YOUR HEAD. Our military grave yards are filled with every stripe, not just yours. Patriots don't put ideology over country , but socialist do,

The Republic of California is using the Pyramid scheme. Soon it will break and the shit will hit the fan.
|
|
California is a giant pyramid scheme. It used to lead the country and much of the world in education and innovation. All of the greatness and innovation that came out of here in the form of transportaion (car design and manufacturing) as well as the space program has been lost forever. The only car company manufacturing here in California is Tesla and the only Aerospace company doing anything significant is SpaceX. Anyone with a brain will leave California for another state never to return-for anything. This state is bloated with government sanctioned giveaways to everyone but the people busting ass to make ends meet and pay the taxes for this welfare state. Every tax, no matter what we are told it's for-"Highways"-"Schools"-"Infrastructure"-"Green Energy" all somehow ends up in the general fund to pay for the bloated CALPERS retirement fund for government workers. Well, guess what? We're out of money. Time to cut back-this is going to be entertaining the next few years.

States tax non-residents all the time. For instance, if you take a round trip flight into and out of Florida, there's an additional tax imposed by the state of Florida. Florida, California, Georgia, Louisiana and many other states charge an additional tax for non-residents staying hotels. So any of you thinking that taxing non-residents is unconstitutional are very much mistaken.

Might be time for another Tea Party.....

" So any of you thinking that taxing non-residents is unconstitutional are very much mistaken. "
Holy fuck dude, they may be non-residents but they're actually staying in those states and the taxes are collected by the hotel and paid to the state, lol.
The state is not chasing these people around the globe taxing them for the next 10 years........fuck that was a brain dead post
CA is now at the point of practically no growth and lost a house seat this year because other states ARE growing. As Doc Holiday said..........."It's a reckoning" that's a coming
HP, Oracle, the list gets longer of all the companies leaving...........now Nuisance has BK'ed a pile of restaurants and other businesses............
Not to worry, they'll just Hoover up all the billionaires money and it'll be fine
