Looks like there is another mutation to COVID-19 called: VUI-202012/01 , and it is coming out of the UK.
Highly contagious and with more damage to the body than earlier versions.
From the BBC ( not to be confused with big black cock):
“ Why is this variant causing concern?
Three things are coming together that mean it is attracting attention:
It is rapidly replacing other versions of the virus
It has mutations that affect part of the virus likely to be important
Some of those mutations have already been shown in the lab to increase the ability of the virus to infect cells
All of these come together to build a case for a virus that can spread more easily.
However, we do not have absolute certainty. New strains can become more common simply by being in the right place at the right time - such as London, which had only tier two restrictions until recently.”
One last thing. The US military is really going out of its way to see if the new strain is resistant to the vaccines.
9.7 out of 10 on the Gloom-o-meter!
Nice recovery from a long slump of weak blogging.
It's all here folks
Hopefully, this new mutation jumps the pond and gives Sherky lots of new material
More death and destruction coming your way
Bravo

"Vaccines fine for now: New strain not really a strain, just a lineage. RNA viruses mutate it’s what they do. Even evidence that it’s more transmissible may be right but not convincing. Our great colleagues @MethodistHosp in @TXMedCenter made a different but similar observation"
"Will the SARS-CoV-2 variant cause the virus to evade vaccines?
That takes years, not months.
'No one should worry that there is going to be a single catastrophic mutation that suddenly renders all immunity and antibodies useless.'"
^ odd that you didn't copy paste the tweet that said
"Not listening to you anymore, Pete"
I like this one,
"It is expected that with each passage through the human population covid19 will adapt to us. We may even adapt to it, but that would require all susceptible people to die out."
May all those susceptible people be progressives who like lockdowns.........please Allah
RNA viruses like coronaviruses undergo antigenic drift -- mutations that allow these viruses to learn to evade our immune systems. Now it's possible we do adapt to this by not becoming as sick when we get reinfected, but that's speculation. The good news, as stated in those tweets I left, is that antigenic drift normally takes years before forming a new strain could evade our immune system. It's unlikely to occur so soon. That's why the vaccine and monoclonal antibody treatments are still ok, but this does need to be verified experimentally.
Lockdowns wouldn’t happen if people just listened and used common sense.
You do know that Wuhan.life is back to almost normal?
Because they locked down and stuck with it for the greater good. Here, we got arrogant ases who keep infecting others and themselves, and keep that body count rising.

You're not there, don't know what they did or how they did what they're lying about doing.
It's a totalitarian dictatorship, you fucking idiot
That statement is the kinda stupid I'd expect to see from Happy, Jimbo or Detroit
Gloom-O-Meter says disqualified
Penalty for weak post, 15 yards and loss of down
They needed to dump Trump
Mission accomplished
Now they can do bidness with the Bidens
This ain't rocket science
One of my tenants is from Nanchang, China, miles away from Wuhan. Going to college here.
I check in on him frequently because he’s a good person who gets a bad case of homesickness.
I may not be there but his second hand accounts (and my business connections abroad) are better than local news.
And when it comes to crisis, yes, having stringent rules in place and the teeth to back them up works for nations across the world. That’s why we have FEMA and strict rules that trigger Marshall Law when disaster to the community happens. Did we have to go as Draconian as the Chinese? No, New Zealand set a great example of how to run a tight ship and still respect people’s rights. But we have too many yahoo’s here who care only about themselves and “freedoms” when the actual question is “am I going to get sick or get someone else sick today”.
Pioneering Harvard virologist William Haseltine looked at the data on new COVID-19 variant and thinks it could be more transmissible, that it evolved through escaping our immune system, and could be more deadly. He notes it can escape antibodies from convalescent plasma. Not certain about how that effects vaccine.
He is worried COVID is ending up to be a better escape artist than we hoped, akin to the flu.
"We're all vaccinated but still supposed to wear a mask?
No way this idiot earned a real degree"
No, wear a mask while vaccination is taking place. You might be vaccinated, but people you come in contact with might not be. Vaccination means that symptoms disappear, but we're not certain about infectiousness. Meaning, you can still get COVID and be asymptomatic and pass it on to someone who hasn't been vaccinated yet.
So if you get vaccinated, and many people haven't been vaccinated yet, you should still wear a mask outside your home around people.
Nobody knows if the vax reduces transmission or not
But, fuck it....I'm most likely immune......so, I'm good to go, lol
"A vaccine that reduces a vaccinated person’s symptoms but doesn’t stop them from transmitting a possible infection would prevent roughly 40% of infections and 60% of deaths during the vaccine roll out period, the Hutch models show. If the vaccine has both effects, though, it could prevent 70% of infections and 70% of deaths."
I’m more worried about the South African variant. The UK variant shows only modest loss in efficacy of antibodies from blood of people who had COVID. The South African variant has shown a much greater ability at immune escape, which could affect how well the vaccines perform. We just don’t know yet.
That’s why we need to vastly reduce presence of the virus by social distancing, mask wearing, testing and quarantining, and lockdowns if necessary. We now know letting the virus run rampant will allow it to mutate into forms which may be easier to transmit, more deadly, and more resistant to the vaccines. There is evidence from Brazil that people may be able to easily get reinfected with a variant similar to the one from South Africa.
It takes 2 weeks to take hold but even after the second shot it's only 95% effective, so 5% of 300 million is still 1.5 million.
That means a lot of you are still gonna get fucked, lol
Me, I'll be done with masks 2 weeks after my second shot
Fuck 'em
"It takes 2 weeks to take hold but even after the second shot it's only 95% effective, so 5% of 300 million is still 1.5 million.

This is incorrect. If 85% of people take the vaccine, we probably will arrive at herd immunity, and the virus will become much less prevalent and eventually die off.
There are assumptions to this outcome:
1. I'm assuming 85% is vaccinated before antigenic drift creates a variant which can escape from immunity caused by the vaccine.
2. The vaccine is still effective enough with the variants that exist today.
3. A relatively large percent of the population are unable to transmit the virus once they take the vaccine and wait a few weeks.
4. The influx of new cases from other countries is controlled until much of the rest of the world reaches herd immunity.
There are probably other assumptions I'm making.
Sounds like all ur bullshit, NR
If these 8 things would happen, it'll all be ok
If people would just do this, less would've died
If we'd have had a more inspiring Pres, we'd all be living in Shangri-la
