If you don't mind me asking, what got you on the list essentially at the front of the line, ahead of most of the general population? Right now, it's doctors, nurses, and inmates...unless you're a nurse, which the thought of you in a nurse outfit is making me a little dizzy...in a good way!

In answer to the OP's question -
I totally intend on getting one, prefer the Moderna Vax.
I apologize to OP if my post created a misunderstanding. It was my intention to try to understand the process on how to get the vaccine if there was one.
It was NOT my intention to impugn BougieSavage in any way. SK is probably right, I would be respectful if OP did not want to divulge personal information.
(but if you can without specifics, that would be awesome!)

I don't get flu shots but I'll get the COVID shot once they're available.

I got Pfizer shot since it was available first.
sore arm x 1 to 2 days. No significant short term side effects.
Long term side effects, Guess we'll find out in a few more years.
Next shot soon.
Based on Data, It would appear Moderna vaccine is likely slightly better than Pfizer one.
After all, look which Dr. Fauci, and top officials got..... Moderna vaccine.
One caveat though, Your second shot should be the same as the first one. You can't mix and match between the 2 vaccines.
I however ponder if it would be more effective or ideal to take both vaccines in succession, ie 3 months apart after completion of the series since both are of different mRNA which you give different viral spike proteins of the Covid 19. Hope some scientists will start doing that clinical study soon.

There are several instances where non-healthcare workers were getting it first.
Apparently, once the vaccine is released to the hospital, it’s up to them to decide how it gets administered. In some cases they are not getting the amount of healthcare workers they planned on and once the vaccine is taken out of storage it has to be used. I know of one medical center that used it vaccinate to Fire and Police right away. Other cities they are still weeks away from anyone other than healthcare and long term care. My dad is about to get discharged from the hospital and they are going to give it to him because he’s eighty. A lot of it is being at the right place at the right time. You’d think they’d have a better plan by now, they knew this was coming at some point.

It’s crazy, a lot of the vaccines are being wasted because the shelf life is so short. CVS had 480 that they were going to have to throw away the next day but luckily we referred them somewhere and they were able to administer them on time. I can only imagine how many actually have to get thrown out though. I’m super surprised they aren’t making it available to more people yet, hopefully they have a really good reason for not.

Lol, c-j, she's the one that started the blog. If she wanted to keep it private, she shouldn't start a blog. I'm not saying anybody is not entitled to it, I just want to know how to get the damn thing. Just heard about a 25 year old UC student with no risk factors who got it. How is it that California is so dysfunctional that vaccines are going to waste and potentially have to be thrown out?
