It is itself hypocritical to compare and criticize BLM movement, which was based on the realities of systematic racism that we all witnessed, and this assault to democracy that happened today, which is based on total lies and conspiracy theories that there were voting fraud in presidential election that this con-man Trump was attempting to make his supporters to believe in.
There is nothing surprising here, because we all saw what has transpired last four years under this trashy administration and his Republican senate followers.

What happened in D.C was not a protest. It was an insurrection and a coup attempt. If you say that "it is just like XYZ, let's compare the reactions or media coverage".... you are wrong or trying to deceive people. Nothing like this has happened here. EVER.

These terrorists interrupted an active session of Congress, caused elected reps to fear for their lives, and resulted in evacuations of elected leaders. They attacked police, destroyed governement property and illegally entered a Federal building. They had arms and bombs. There is no doubt they were anti-American terrorists acting in the name of pro-T**** loonies.
Don't need to believe me though... the members of the President's own party are discussing how to remove him as you read this, Articles of Impeachment have been drafted and ways to invoke the 25th Amendment to remove an unfit President are in-progress.
His own cabinent has turned and is keeping him from any action until he can be neutralized.

Best thing to do is to use 25th amendment to remove Trump from presidency and let Pence becomes a replacement for the final two weeks, or impeach Trump and criminalize him NOW so that he can not run for any future presidential election. If that did not happen, I am sure he will put into a prison so that he will lose his candidacy for good.

as I said before the way things are going in this country a civil war is most likely going to happen at some point.
There are two different cultures in this country and there getting to the point that each side looks at the other as if they are animals and less than human.(just look at how you lefties post on these blogs about republicans, conservatives and Trump supporters)
One side riots and its labeled peaceful protest and there voices must be heard. But if the other side protest then they are labeled rioters and must be condemned and dealt with. This kind of thinking is going to lead us to a disaster of biblical magnitude if changes are not made and made fast.
You have half the country believing that the elections are rigged and there is evidence , and there is affidavits of thousands of people that witnessed fraudelent activity of these elections.
Yet the lefts line has been, there is no evidence and at every turn these peoples complaints will not be heard.
If you do not hear or address there complaints then those individuals will look at the Biden administration as illegitimate and will not submit to it.
But the left likes to pass laws that the right do not agree with so do you think they are going to comply. Do you think they will give two fucks about the authority of federal government???

Among many of the differences were
1) there was not a lot of BLM and Antifa plants inside of this mob causing damage in order to place blame
2) While there was some response from police....the response was nowhere near the same. During the BLM movement, there were checkpoints every block and troops were on the streets. You saw no troops at the capital because of....well...they blamed bad planning and bad traffic.
3) The BLM leaders were preaching peaceful protest. In this, Trump was a couple blocks a way holding rally and encouraging them and firing them up to go to the Capital and not back down, not accept this, etc. They listened.
There should be a monument to sore loser-dom with Trump and his followers. You had two months to make a case. You presented nothing but hearsay...I heard someone say they saw this! You got several cases in front of the Supreme Court. You had no proof! So you do this. Well, hope it was worth it.
To the people who say we shouldn't engage....this is what you try to prevent. Talk reason to insanity and bring them down off that ledge.

Not sure why people cannot accept that protest is acceptable and encouraged in this free country.
