Wait a minute, but OK

I got in line this morning at the grocery store, as the store was controlling people coming into the store. A store employee opens the door, looks around, looks at me and says, "Sir, you can come in". There were a few people in front of me, so I looked at them, then I looked behind me. Then I said, "Shouldn't the people ahead of me go in first?". The employee responded, "60 and older can come in now". For a moment I thought, I'm not 60, I'm 54. Then I thought, wait a minute, do I look like I'm 60. Then I thought, OK, I'm 60. As I walked in, a little more hunched over than normal, I said to the employee, "I hope you are this nice to your parents". I did my shopping, paid, bagged my own groceries, and exited. The people in front of me in line were still there, and there was only about three other shoppers in the store. I felt a little guilty, but got over that really quick.

Facephuckker, that doesn't bode well for the majority of the guys on this site.

Socaliam,of course, I had to sell the 60+ status.

My experience at one of the stores was different. I was in line, got there 20 minutes before they opened , there was a store employee telling everyone that was over 60 to move to another line which was much shorter. I move to the shorter line and I thought I had it made. And no I wasn’t there for tp nor water or cleaning products. I was there for 3 items. Tomatoes, potatoes and fresh fruit as soon as they open the doors it looked like Black Friday, both lines started rushing inside. This was about 2 weeks ago. Right there and then I figured I didn’t need anything. I’ve been shopping at other places and try not get pissed off. I’m learning just to get by with what I have and not shop at bigger stores.

Several of the stores in my area are opening their stores for a couple of days a week at 7:00 AM for seniors. Seniors have full access to the store from 7:00 to 9:00. I did notice a fairly significant number of people who definitely did not look to be a senior, but I guess the store cannot refuse entry to anyone during normal business hours....

I haven't used my senior status to get in any stores early yet. I shop once a week at the same store. I get there around opening time. They don't have old people early entry yet. If they implement it I will take advantage of it.

Sense I am so old people assume I'm carrying the virus so they get out of my way and let me walk right in the store.

I always buy a shopping cart of toilet paper and sell it next to my friend that selling oranges on the corner.

I would buy water but toilet paper is much much lighter
