No, i get it. Cuomo was a buffoon up until the beginning of the year. even I will concede that.
but when the shit hit the fan he really has stepped up. Shit is getting done, bullshit is being called, and he doesn’t give a shit to red tape that has been hampering the care of New Yorkers (the USNS Comfort situation being one of them). No, it’s not been perfect, but Cuomo is in my opinion making the right moves and saying the right things under crisis.

And the reason New York is in this crisis is they did not PLAN.....Cuomo has been governor since 2011......they were caught flat footed......
There was a 2008 report that was updated in 2015 that New York would have a shortage of ventilators in a pandemic. It also indicated they would have a shortage of workers to actually operate the ventilators.
The report also outlined a criteria for determining who would get the ventilator treatment and who would not.....that is now where they are.....if he doesn't have enough of either....that was HIS choice....so can't bitch now that they have to choose who get them.....
It was a conscious choice to accept the report and know you will won't have what you need....don't blame anyone else.
Likewise, most other states don't have enough supplies either....again a choice. So don't bitch after the fact.

Oh, I get that part very much. It’s why I called him a doofus.
But you don’t plan for a pandemic, you plan for storms and other frequent disasters.
I’m not addressing what he did before, hindsight is twenty-twenty and everyone can see this mistakes.
However, how we deal with the cards that have been dealt, this is how you can tell the quality of a leader. Yeah, he has a big mea culpa coming, but in the meantime he is doing a good job of dealing with the crisis. He is not making it worse.
