If taxpayers are providing a safety net for corporations, that's socialism
Isn't Social Security a form of socialism?
Why blame Bernie rather than our actual leader.
It seems as though those on the right are scared to criticize Trump no matter how incompetent he is.
You have a Republican President and Republicans control the Senate, stop making excuses!
If you disagree, rely on capitalism to save our country and refuse any government involvement. I doubt you'll last very long.
You'd have to rely on good natured people such as myself. Even though your a greedy evil goon, which is typical of those who feel entitled on the right.

You're fine as hell Gina.

Sexy ass Gina, I'd make love to your fine ass.
Granite, I'll let you stay rent free I my backyard and let you watch me and Gina make love in the rain.
Granite, why do you deflect and ask people to answer questions you pose without answering the initial question? It seems this is your constant strategy.
You too my friend.

Some of us are not getting the check.
Enjoy lib-leeches... You're welcome.

Obviously, you have more time on your hands than I do. And I'm not going to read all the dribble here.
But I will point out that the very definition of socialism that YOU provided applies to the current situation.
"the means of production, distribution, and exchange should be owned or regulated by the community as a whole"
That's exactly what the fuck we have when taxpayers (the community as a whole) fund the organizations that produce and distribute goods and services.
I would donate my check to make nancy, chuck, and aoc disappear.
^^^^^^^^^^^ According to Granite, the taxpayers owe you a lot more than that since the government forbids you to work.

If you think stimulus check is socialism you are an idiot. People and businesses that affected by communism china party virus are being helped out. Not career welfare people that dont want to work that democrats wants to give money to.
Social Security is NOT Socialism! It's an INVESTMENT! I first invested in Social Security in 1960 and when I was disabled in 2005 I started drawing on my investment.

Please find a political blog for this crap.

I'm going to regret jumping into the mud with you guys, but I'd like to put things in perspective.
Fact: 4 out of 5 Americans live paycheck to paycheck
Fact: 4 in 10 Americans can't afford a $400 emergency
So now we find ourselves in a global pandemic, and governments all over the world are shutting down their economies for the health of their citizens and to prevent the collapse of their healthcare systems. Governments must prop up their societal frameworks or suffer lasting damage.
Of course our political parties have two different approaches:
The Republican solution: give corporations money and allow it to trickle down to workers, because we can obviously trust corporations to do the right thing. Surely it won't go to executive bonuses and stock-buybacks, because, of course, that just hurts the average person. Unfortunately, Republicans on Capital Hill didn't want any restrictions on how the stimulus package, and Trump is now trying to dismantle many [if not all] safeguards as to how the money is spent.
The Democrat solution: give money directly to workers/people in need. The money they are given will be spent immediately because most people are living paycheck to paycheck, so the money the government gives workers will automatically re-enter the economy and will "bubble up" to corporations. Democrats fought Republicans to give the money directly to the workers and faced resistance from Republicans every step of the way, including now.
America is approaching a very dangerous time where the income disparity between the "haves" and the "have nots" has been widening to such a degree that something drastic is going to happen [think of a French Revolution/Marie Antionette moment].
To avert the inevitable public unrest, at least as I see it, basic human needs need to be socialized, especially the healthcare. When you give corporations that have a profit motive control over essential industries, they do what they do best: they try to increase profits at practically any cost.
The current healthcare system is run in the leanest way possible to maximize profits. They have just enough hospital beds to accommodate demand, but failed to invest in case of a pandemic or other emergency. And who foots the bill when the shit hits the fan? The American public to the benefit of healthcare companies.
Another example are prisons run by corporations that are paid by the inmate, so unsurprisingly, the number of inmates has exploded. This is just another example of capitalism run amuck. Society would be a much better place if essential industries were nationalized.
And beyond that, Trump/Republicans want to deregulate everything. Wonderful. We should all trust that corporations will do the right thing, right? Don't be so stupid.
Lastly, I love capitalism more than most people; I have certainly benefitted from it. But as they say on Wall Street: "pigs get slaughtered"....

Since I have been alive, the airlines have been bailed out twice. Can we not do that this time? let them fail, isn't that true capitalism? Not my fault they took a gamble and did billions in stock buy backs over the last 10 years. Why should they get a damn dime of our dollars? If I start a business and it fails I lose my shirt. Why should it be any different for anyone else?
Privatization of gains, socialize the losses.
Must be nice.

Let's not pretend this is a partisan issue. Red,Blue,Green, etc, they all are equally worthless. If that hasn't been proven by the Kung Flu then nothing will ever convince you otherwise.
Maybe the congress will get the Wu Tang Flu and make way for some new thinking.
maybe all those who are anti- socialist shouldn't be getting a check.
it's funny that when other people are getting a hand out its socialist when they are getting a hand out it's "stimulus" package.

Crane op still doesn't know the difference between "your" and you're.
Nor does he know the mea ing of the word "or"
We have been living under and continue living under a form of socialism.
The fda, fcc, faa and dozens of other agencies and laws are regulations that impede free markets. As does Social security , the stimulus check, SSI, medicare and dozens of other forms of income redistribution. Both Democrats and Trumpy's believe in this redistribution the only difference is who is getting it. The GOP tends to want to give the money to corporations and farmers. The welfare system of farmers being paid to not grow crops is pure socialism. The Dems have the audacity to suggest it should be redistributed to some subsistance form of medical care and perhaps a meal or two a day to those that are hungry. We've found a way to do that up here in Canada. Unfortunately the richest country in the world is more concerned about controlling women's bodies and which invisible man in the sky one believes in.

Just as long as the Kennedy Center and PBS get their Covid-19 money, who cares?
Yep support of the arts is pure socialism as is every Defense Cost Plus contract. Of course those contracts made me rich...so they can stop now.
