Well, it happened.

Trump went full Cartman today.

“Respect my authoritariah!!!”

Or something like it.

When criticized over his handling of the COVID response, and that the governors have final say on when people can venture out in their community.

“When somebody is the president of the United States, the authority is total,” Mr Trump said at the daily White House coronavirus briefing.

Mr Trump’s comments came as several states announced they would band together in regional groupings in order to agree timeframes for lifting the orders that have effectively shuttered the US economy.

The president’s assertion that he could dictate to governors was a dramatic challenge to the US constitution’s system of federalism. Under the 10th amendment of the constitution, all powers not expressly delegated to the federal government are left to the states, and the people.

Someone change the baby’s diaper, please.

I'll trade you one 10th Amendment for one roll of TP.
That's about what it's worth these days

Pretty funny, you talking 10th Amendment, lol
If somebody screamed racism or climate change, you'd be the first one dropping a dime to the Feds.
Is there anything the Feds don't have their nose all up in our bidness about?

If Trump's dumb ass was a football player, he could never get out of "Concussion Protocol!
Every time he opened his mouth, they would take his helmet and escort him to the tent. He's classic. But his dumb ass still wins in Nov.

Trump smacked the media square in the face today. He presented facts and timelines of WH actions and contrasted that to statements by the media and politicians. Two major networks actually switched away from coverage because the truth was too disturbing for the viewers. They are the ones out to lunch on what's going on...

Oh and on the back page of the paper... Bernie endorses Biden in a basement fart fest between two grumpy old stuttering men. Will Obama go there?

The New York Times cleans up its recent story about sexual allegations against Sleepy Joe Biden. They had to remove any suggestions that improper behaviour existed. That's a time bomb...

Missing in the news is the result from a study showing very positive results for COVID-19 treatment using hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin. The stuff Trump doesnt have any investments in... Wow really?...

The federal government and the Executive Branch does have a lot of power
but Trumps comments was stretching that power.
However I think he was making the point that the Federal govt does
have a lot of power over the states and usually has the last word,.
But the states also have rights and it is impossible for the Feds to micro manage.
Some states and cities don't follow federal law when it come to immigration
and the Feds have done very little to address their lack of compliance.

It will be interesting to see what happens when the states don't comply
or agree with Trumps decisions.
And where is the Congress on all this? They seem to be MIA!

Sherkahn... where is your blog about Fauci saying Trump implemented the policies that were recommended each time they made a request?

You can’t post that.... because it doesn’t fit the narrative you want to promote.

Waiting for one of the more intelligent members here to explain why they are okay with a POTUS who claims complete authority yet does not accept any responsibility. Seems like a bad combination to me.

"explain why they are okay with a POTUS who claims complete authority yet does not accept any responsibility"

Fed has certain authority and states have rights. The simple fact of the matter is the the President is not, has not, actually at odds with any of the Governors over response and status. If you watch the clips Cuomo and Newsom thank the President for assistance.

It is the fake new media ( CNN, MSNBC ) that want you to believe there is an impending crisis with regards to reopening and Governors are in heated conflict with the President.

The Governors are not playing politics here,.. only the media and Pelosi's posse are.

Trump's illegal and astonishing "briefing" just further eroded his power. No one is going to let him make this call on "reopening".

Although would be funny if he tries to anyway. The more he speaks, the more he "briefs," the press, the further he slides down in approval and authority.

He can't even do his job--has to try to shirk blame and never admit a mistake. And now is using a national crisi to try to sneak in campaign promos--disgusting, irresponsible, illegal, abuse of government resources. Of course, not the first time he breaks the law blatantly.

Networks cut away when they realized what this idiot was trying to do. And now they have to give equal time to Biden--because that's the law.

I think Trump should just stop taking these bullshit baited questions from these fake news organizations period. Like just talk 15 minutes, take a few questions and let Pence take over. Thier whole motive is to get a response they can run with.

And yesterday it was.. "Trump thinks he can do anything he wants"... "he's so full of himself and we dont like it" ... like old times in the school yard.

Trump and the Governors aren't going to do anything that doesnt have a coordinated plan in place and concessions will be made on an individual state basis.
