Nothing to do with quarantine, I've always loved browsing old profiles but the pictures are gone now.

IMHO, I don’t think this site ( ultimately the community) should support dormant accounts.
If the account owner doesn’t care, why should we ?
|
|
Lamar, there’s a lot of beautiful women here who support the community.
|
|
Lmao @lamar

subscribe to the dormant account and you'll be notified when they come back
and then they usually re-post their old pics (and try to make you think they still look like that)
|
|
Taylor looks very tasty.
|
|
Yes she does, especially that one picture.
subscribe to the dormant account and you'll be notified when they come back
There are several ladies who has been gone over ten years that I enjoyed the pleasure of their company and from time to time I enjoyed a peek at their photos. There is only one of them I am subscribed to that I would jump on if she came back.

I noticed that too...
For example JulietSkittles (see link below)
Says she has like 7 albums (all public) with 60 some photos on photo album page, but when you open an album, says 0 photos.
Site has struggled with photos for years and never got it working--my understanding is that is why so many "Orphan" albums, from when photos mysteriously vanish and are restored.
And frequently photos in albums disappear or get corrupted so can't be displayed. Happens pretty much every day. You open an album and see several sad square icons where a nice pic used to be.
And it is known that the site can't always count when it comes to photos--often Orphan albums say "0 photos" on the photo top page, but actually there are photos when you open the album.
This new bug seems the opposite--lists some count of pics, but if you open the album says zero.
Might be connected with recent upgrades?

As to subscribe and hope they come back.... I have enough subscriptions.
I go through a few times a year and unsub to anyone who hasn't updated in 6 months or so.
Except for a very few, special and missed, that I hold out hope might be active again so stay subscribed... waiting.

happyguy63 thank you, that's what I was trying to say.
|

Still seems to be a thing....
Computer cannot count.
A lot of old (5 yrs) albums say X photos but have none.
Some newer Orphan albums say 0 photos but have several

There was a blog on this debating protecting the privacy of people here who have moved on from HX who may not know, remember, or even have access to old accounts anymore. Hence, some suggested that these profiles remain in case people come back but that photo albums should “go dark” after a user has not logged in after a long time.
I could be wrong, but I think HX implemented this simple fix but may not have announced it. Kudos to HX!

As much as I enjoyed going down memory lane with some of the old account pictures, I agree this was a good thoughtful change to protect the privacy of people who have moved on..

I miss my mom
She ran off with a level -2
So embarrassing

Your Mom was a lovely woman. Kind, gentle, generous.
I still remember how she left those brownies to cool on on the window sill knowing that you and I were going to take them and eat them behind the shed. I don’t think I have ever heard you giggle so much.

Nothing like a good game of "The Dozens".

Flappy, noticed a lot of your posts include food.
What up with that?
You a chef or just hungry?

Nancy Silverton Chopped Salad - I think you’ll like it!
INGREDIENTS
FOR THE VINAIGRETTE
2 1/2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
2 tablespoons dried oregano
Freshly squeezed juice from 1/2 lemon (1 tablespoon), or more to taste
2 medium cloves garlic, 1 smashed and 1 grated
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt, plus more to taste
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper, plus more to taste
1 1/2 cups extra-virgin olive oil
FOR THE SALAD
1/2 small red onion, cut in half from top to bottom
1 head (22 ounces) iceberg lettuce
1 head (11 ounces) radicchio
1 pint small, sweet cherry tomatoes, such as Sun Golds or Sweet 100s, cut into quarters
Kosher salt
1 1/2 cups no-salt-added chickpeas, drained
1/4 pound aged provolone, cut into 1/8-inch-thick slices, then cut into 1/4-inch-wide strips
1/4 pound Genoa salami, cut into 1/8-inch-thick slices, then cut into 1/4-inch-wide strips
5 pepperoncini (stems discarded), cut into thin slices (about 1/4 cup)
Freshly squeezed juice from 1/2 lemon (1 tablespoon), or more to taste
Dried oregano (preferably Sicilian oregano on the branch), for sprinkling
DIRECTIONS
For the vinaigrette: Whisk together the vinegar, oregano, lemon juice, the smashed garlic and grated garlic and the salt and pepper in a medium bowl. Let the mixture rest for 5 minutes (to marinate the oregano). Add the oil in a slow, steady stream, whisking constantly to form an emulsified vinaigrette. Taste for seasoning, and add salt or lemon juice as needed. The yield is a generous 1 1/2 cups; you'll use up to 1/2 cup for this salad, and the remainder can be refrigerated for another use (up to 3 days).
For the salad: Separate the layers of the onion and stack two or three layers on top of one another, then cut them lengthwise into 1/16-inch-wide strips. Repeat with the remaining onion layers. Place the onion in a small bowl of ice water to sit while you prepare the rest of the ingredients. Drain the onion and pat dry with paper towels before adding to the salad.
Cut the iceberg lettuce in half through the core. Remove and discard the outer leaves, and discard the core. Separate the lettuce leaves, stack two or three leaves on top of one another, then cut them lengthwise into 1/4-inch-wide strips. Repeat with the remaining leaves; thinly slice the radicchio in the same way. Cut the tomatoes in half, season them with salt to taste, and toss gently.
Combine the lettuce, radicchio, tomatoes, chickpeas, provolone, salami, peperoncini and onion in a large, wide bowl. Season with salt to taste, and toss to thoroughly combine. Drizzle 6 tablespoons of the vinaigrette over the salad, then sprinkle with the lemon juice; toss gently to coat the salad evenly. Taste, and add the remaining 2 tablespoons of the vinaigrette, plus salt and/or lemon juice as needed.
Transfer the salad to a large platter or divide it among individual plates, piling it like a mountain. Sprinkle the dried oregano leaves on top and serve.
