WHO is the authoritative source for info. They have got some things wrong. Gonna happen in a crisis this chaotic. But unlike the US they will admit they are revising their ideas based on data and information.

I googled WHO's mistakes and just gave you the first 3 that popped up in the search...I don't have the time to give you all of their mistakes.....they get it wrong more times than right.

I understand there is rarely permanent immunity from these infections as the virus can also evolve. So, the WHO's statement is correct and has been widely known before their "enlightened" announcement. The real question is the duration of any short term immunity that may be possible with infection. I only hope for some some immunity until there is a vaccine.

Actually a pretty good piece in the NYT Magazine about WHO today.
Basically a plea for more money but I can't disagree with some of what's said:
Peter Daszak, directs pandemic-prevention group EcoHealth Alliance and is chairman of the Forum on Microbial Threats at the National Academy of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine...I quote
"We really did miss the wake-up call. The alarm went off with SARS and we hit the snooze button. And then we hit it again with Ebola, with MERS, with Zika. Now that we're awake, we should think about where to go from here".
The point is get them enough funding to desing panviral drugs that would attack ALL coronaviruses, not just the one we got now. Hard to argue with that, if it's possible.
BUT, we gotta get the asshole bureaucrats out of the top of the organization so the scientists can get the work done without the misleading bullshit.

They say you can get reinfected but I wonder what that means for people who are getting convalescent plasma therapy treatments. If your giving someone plasma from someone who had the disease are you helping them to build antibodies or are you reinfecting them with new virus?

Where is the news briefing from the doctors stating that there is a decline in cases. They have done more than 1/2 of the testing in that county and have ran the numbers and they are not adding up to what the media is putting out. In fact hospitals are empty, AND doctors are reporting that they are being paid to check Covid-19 as cause of death?

It would seem Ms. Parker might be right. As of a couple of days ago per someone that works at Hoag Hospital in Newport only 11 people were in the hospital being treated for Covid-19. Hardly seems like an overwhelming number.
Also there have been a number of lawsuits filed in Pennsylvania as the result of death certificates being altered after the fact to change the cause of death from heart attacks, etc. to Covid-19.
Perhaps the post made by Crane linking to a video interview where a US Senator who happens to be an MD indicated that CDC was encouraging death to be from corona virus when the doctor was not sure that was the cause might have some merit.
Of course if each hospital is being given $13,000 for each Corona Virus patient admitted and $35,000 if that patient needs to be put on a ventilator that might be a nice incentive for a lot of deaths to be shown as from corona virus.

WHO may be right or they may be wrong, since being right is the safer route this time it is prudent to not believe you are invincible if you have had it.
WHO has been wrong plenty of times and is covering up a lot of nasty shit going on in China and WHO is actively dismissing Taiwan who warned early on.
So no I do not trust the WHO anymore than any Government.
